Allow me to reintroduce myself💅 Hi! I’m Payton, a cosmetic chemist, and these days, the beauty space is a crazy (but amazing) place that’s unfortunately full of misinformation and lack of education. I realized early on that my passion was bridging the gap between product/ingredient knowledge and consumer understanding to help people make more educated and empowered decisions about their products and may work for them. I have always loved reviewing makeup/skincare and making videos to share, here on this page, I do just that! I love sharing science-backed reviews and reccomendations, discussing what different ingredients are/do, and breaking down different marketing trends and what they really mean, all to help you feel more confident in your routine. My degree is in Cosmetic Science and Formulation Design with a pharmaceutical background, and I have a few years of experience working in the industry across marketing, product development, and science education. I’m currently pursuing my Masters in Cosmetic science and I can’t wait to continue my understanding of the industry and be able to better communicate and make this knowledge more accessible! The one haul that started it all.🩵 I am so excited to announce that I was asked to be on the Cosmetic Chemist Advisory Board for my favorite skincare brand @prequelskin ! My love for Prequel all started with an order I placed back in September last year. What started out as an organic order and curiosity about the brand, became a more meaningful relationship than I can begin to describe. The commitment they have to empowering the consumer and bettering the beauty industry is something I am so happy to support. I can’t say enough about the genuine love, passion, and brilliance there was in the room with all of these incredible people. From chemists, to founders, to educators, sharing conversations with so many individuals that I look up to in the industry is definitely one of the coolest experiences I have had the opportunity to be part of! You can tell every single person has the same goal; to make the industry better, more transparent, and more accessible for everyone. TO BE CLEAR: 1. I have nothing against mineral sunscreens. 2. I am not saying Butyloctyl Salicylate is bad. 3. Butyloctyl Salicylate is not an FDA approved UV Filter, however it is chemically similar in structure and function to Octyl Salicylate/Octisalate (an FDA approved organic UV filter) and has been shown to have SPF boosting properties. 4. This is not to throw shade or towards any one brand this is just something I’m seeing more and more! My point is, brands are marketing their “mineral sunscreens” with such low levels of inorganic (or mineral) UV filters that you can almost always tell that there is something else going on, in order to be able to achieve the SPF rating on the label. Legally they fall under the Mineral Sunscreen Category, so I don’t have any complains as long as they are not marketing it as safer or “100% mineral” or “100% natural UV filters” Also big thumbs down to companies who also market their mineral sunscreens as “safer” than chemical sunscreens and then proceed to have Butyloctyl Salicylate in the ingredients.👎 One is not “safer” than the other, just wear whichever sunscreen you prefer and will use consistently! #spf #mineralsunscreen #sunscreen #butyloctylsalicylate

Jack of all trades, Master of one👩‍🔬💄🎓 Five years ago, I packed up my life and moved across the country with one goal: figure out how to become a cosmetic chemist. What started as my journey to earn my bachelor’s degree ended up turning in to way more than I initially expected… I loved it so much that going to school for a little longer seemed like a good idea and now, officially, I completed a Master of Science in Cosmetic Science & Formulation Design. Closing this chapter feels incredibly bittersweet. The very reason I moved away from home, from comfort, from everything familiar, has now come to its final close. And while the journey was far from easy, the lessons it’s taught me, friends it’s brought me, and connections I’ve made have been worth every minute of struggle. I’m endlessly grateful for the support system that was always there whenever I needed them. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to my family, my professors, my friends, and every person who believed in me even during the moments I didn’t fully believe in myself. WDW🩵 Finally made it to Disney World!!! Had the most amazing trip with @cookie.inkz , my trusted WDW expert🫶 Day 1- Travel to FL and resort hopping to try all the mocktails Day 2- Hollywood Studios Day 3- Magic Kingdom Day 4- Epcot Day 5- Disney Springs and travel home (so we planned) Day 6- Second flight cancelled so we started our unexpected roadtrip from FL to OH Day 7- made it home in the AM from driving straight through😅 Wasn’t entirely how we planned it but I couldn’t have been luckier to get to do it all! TYDS Tour Recap🤎👑 Over the past few weeks I had the absolute best time getting to attend three different @priscillablock shows in Tempe, Arizona, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Nashville. Getting to experience each show in a different city and with some of my favorite people made every one of them such a memorable experience. The Nashville show was so special to get to attend, not only was it my my first time ever seeing a show in Nashville, but it was so cool to witness such a big milestone for P and the entire @blockpartyband . Getting to be there and support them was so, so cool! I first found PB back on TikTok during COVID, and since then I’ve made every effort to show up and support wherever/whenever I can. Whether she was opening for other artists or on her own tour. It has been so incredible getting to watch the TYDS tour continue to grow and evolve these past few shows. You can truly tell how much work, intention, and heart has gone into every part of the show. From the music, to the energy on stage, it really feels like a beautiful representation of the love, humanity, and realness that was poured into this album. P is truly one of the sweetest and most beautiful people I’ve ever gotten the pleasure of meeting. There’s not another artist I’ve ever come across that makes me feel the way she does, the good, the bad, the happy, the pain. The chills I get when she comes on is a special thing, and to get to experience it live, will never get old.
