APRIL 20-26 2026
BEKTAU-ATA, CENTRAL KAZAKHSTAN
TRAD CLIMBING COURSE by @k.belotserkovskiy Who it’s for:
This is a trad climbing trip, so some real-rock experience is expected. If you’re not ready to climb on gear, there will be top-rope options. And if you want to start placing gear, this remote granite rising out of the steppe is ideal — solid, wind-shaped rock with endless natural placements.

A powerful moment with @power__trips and @mindfulmoment.s
Our Chamonix weekend brought everything together: the people, the team, the place, the weather, and the experiences. Hiking, climbing, yoga, meditation, sound baths under starry skies with @laetiada and meals that nourished eyes, ears, and stomach by @raflavor — each moment complemented the other, creating something truly special.
We love seeing our guests try things they’ve never done before, progress step by step, and overcome fears or insecurities. That is the mission of Power Trips: to be the bridge, guiding you into the mountains with confidence.

Postcards from the second spot of our Kazakhstan trip - Tamgaly-Tas - cliffs rising from the Kazakh steppe, carved with centuries-old petroglyphs and kissed by the lli River wind and golden sunsets.
We climbed with @k.belotserkovskiy - the local legend and route-setter who bolted nearly every line here.
We also got to know the locals, adding another layer of connection to this already special place.

Scenes from our alpine trip to Tuyuk-Su, Kazakhstan — a collaboration between Power Trips and Tau Academy.
Just an hour from Almaty, Tuyuk-Su is a hidden alpine gem in the northern Tian Shan — steep ridgelines, mesmerizing landscapes, and the perfect terrain to build confidence in the mountains.
Over several days, we practiced rope systems, anchor building, mixed movement, and summited Khrustshyov Peak — a climb that reminded us how quiet and powerful the mountains can be.
Wild, technical, and deeply grounding.

Meet the Saiga Antelope, one of the most iconic creatures of Kazakhstan’s Central Asian steppes. Known for its unusual, bulbous nose, the saiga’s distinctive facial structure works as a built-in air filter and temperature regulator, helping it cope with the scorching dust storms of summer and the bitterly cold winds of winter.
Tracing its lineage back to the Ice Age, this resilient species has overcome countless obstacles throughout history. In the mid-2010s, its numbers dropped by as much as 95% within 15 years, largely due to rampant poaching and the loss of natural habitats. Yet, through focused conservation efforts, its population has made a remarkable comeback, with recent estimates in Kazakhstan exceeding one million.
This dramatic revival underlines the saiga’s tenacity and the effectiveness of protective measures. However, they remain vulnerable to illegal hunting, habitat fragmentation, and disease outbreaks.
The saiga’s story offers a powerful example of nature’s capacity to rebound from even the most severe challenges, reminding us that hope and recovery are possible despite significant threats.

PART 2. Tamgaly Tas
Our second stop on the Power Trips tour through Kazakhstan in Central Asia. Located about 120 km north of Almaty on the banks of the Ili River, this rugged haven boasts routes for every skill level, from bolted overhangs to technical slabs and trad challenges. We’ll be guided by Kirill Belotserkovskiy @k.belotserkovskiy who personally bolted many of these climbs and wrote the most up-to-date guidebook for the area.
As you climb among the centuries-old petroglyphs carved into the rocks, you’ll find yourself immersed in the natural beauty of the steppe. Look to the skies for the majestic golden eagles, and across the open plains for rare Red Book species like the saiga antelope, kulan, and goitered gazelle, each a testament to the region’s unique and fragile ecosystem.
