A full circle moment - when Mosab sent me this photo (and permission to share), it felt surreal. Im including the note I sent to him, too. Because I think it is important to truly understand the impact we have on one another. And this impact is more powerful than any prop og@ nda, any occupying state, and beyond this single life. Let it be a tale. 🪁

The winds were extremely harsh… They were not just air, but a storm that broke our tent and tore apart what little safety we had left. The tent that once protected us from the cold and the rain is now damaged, and the ground is filled with mud and stones. There is no longer a place where we can feel warmth or security. What hurts more than the winds… is the silence. The donations that once reached us have greatly decreased, as if the pain has ended. But the truth is, our suffering is still ongoing, and today may be even harder than before. I am sad… Deeply sad, in a way that words cannot fully describe. Sad because the tent was broken, and even more sad because hope is slowly fading. We still need a humanitarian stand with us. We still need your support. Please, do not leave us alone 💔😔

🌱 On Sunday's "Storytime from Palestine" we went week by week through this year's olive harvest season, with our speakers laying out stark statistics and documentation of harm done to olive trees, farms, and farmers. This type of attack has increased massively since 2023 and reaches into all realms of food production - attacks on olive trees, livestock, irrigation systems, and yes, on the bees. We know these attacks are strategic to threaten food security and sovereignty in Palestine and to shake Palestinians hold on their land. 🌱 Palestinian farmers will not be shaken. We know that to grow food in the face of the occupation is an act of resistance, that to build food sovereignty and hold and nurture the land is a step towards liberation. 🌱 We are gathering funds to support farmers in the West Bank, as well as continuing our ongoing fund for beekeepers in Gaza. Please contribute if you are able. Please share widely.

Our hearts broke as we heard these words live from Ihab, our colleague & collaborator in Gaza, at "Bees, Land, & Liberation."     When asked what we can do to support the people of Gaza & the people of Palestine, our dear friend Mohammad, replies without fail, "Transfer the Truth."  Share the stories, do not let these words be watered down or shaped into something else.   Help us transfer the truth by sharing Ihab's stories, and continuing to share all of the stories we're hearing from people in Gaza & the West Bank.  Join us in continuing to call for an arms embargo to Israel, for all the food & water needed to support life in Gaza to come through the borders, in calling on our cities, counties, states, & countries to divest from Israel, and in taking collective action for the longterm liberation of, and sovereignty for, Palestine! ************************ The recordings from Bees, Land, & Liberation are up! (Spanish language interpretation coming very soon!)  If you weren't able to donate leading up to the webinar, we are asking for donations of $1 to $100 to go directly to our colleagues in Gaza and their families.  Links for recordings in bio. To donate from the US: Venmo @combcutters Zelle [email protected] From outside of the US: Please send your donation directly to our collaborators @uawcpal to support food long-term food sovereignty in Palestine

We did it. We held an international seminar in 3 languages that exceeded our fundraising goal; allowing us to provide stipends to Palestinian beekeepers who have lost salaries under the Israeli occupation while donating the majority of the funds to Palestinians in Gaza.  From the bottom of our hearts thank you to everyone who donated to and joined the webinar as we learned about the symbolism/importance of beekeeping in Palestinian liberation. We also want to thank the amazing interpreters who helped translate what was being presented to Spanish, Arabic and English languages:  Yasmin, Alyah, Flavia and Maria Angelica. Thank you for your generous and hard work and for making this webinar accessible to so many more people! And finally we wanted to thank our friends in Palestine for taking the time to present to us the everyday obstacles, struggles and indomitable human spirit of Palestinians and their bees under the Isreali occupation and ongoing genocide. We are incredibly grateful for your time and expertise. Your words of resilience, pain and strength left us speechless. Our hearts are with you all as we continue the fight for Palestinian liberation. For those that were unable to attend the webinar, a recording of the webinar will be available as soon as we reformat and touch up the recorded webinar meeting. More details to follow. Until then, we want to thank everyone again for their efforts in making the webinar possible. It could not have been done without you. As we continue to work on releasing the webinar recording, we will be keeping everyone updated by highlighting different sections of the webinar over the next couple weeks. In the next coming days we will begin our update posts starting with highlighting Ihab's powerful voice right from Gaza. Thank you all again. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
