Happy National Southern Food Day! We are celebrating today with a ✨giveaway✨ and some delicious takeout from the new @tupelohoneycafe in Station Square! We loved their perfectly spiced fried chicken, country style fried chicken and waffles, sweet and spicy chicken sando, and creole shrimp linguine. Ok so we trekked 20 mins to @oakhillpgh in the snow and waited in line for a bit, but it did not disappoint! This place is poppin’ for a reason. Their sandwiches are so freaking good and their biscuits might be the best biscuits we ever had! We especially love the fried egg that makes this a hot delicious mess because runny eggs are ā¤ļø Definitely go for a breakfast sandwich or the breakfast smash. It’s šŸ”„šŸ”„

I was a very outdoor cat last week in Pittsburgh! Did a lot of bopping around and eating. I can feel spring and the fact that everyone’s coming out of hibernation healing some of the winter depression 🌸

Officially becoming a strawberry lady over here šŸ“ this is a strawberry Dubai cake and yes, I definitely forgot to sprinkle crushed pistachios on top before I took these photos but see the last slide for the added pistachios! Cake is a classic chocolate with a homemade strawberry basil jam buttercream and pistachio spread on top of the buttercream! I love riffing on all the things I can make with strawberry jam lately 🤩 and yes, the cake is not perfect, but neither is life, so I’m proud of her anyway ā¤ļø

A very stunning meal at the new @titusz_pgh in Lawrenceville! We truly didn’t have a bad dish or drink here. All of the mains are winners and their fried potato bread and cheese dumplings were šŸ˜‹

šŸ„„šŸ“It’s strawberry season! Here’s the recipe for my coconut chia pudding with strawberry basil jam and fresh strawbs! Here’s how to make the chia pudding: -1 can of light coconut milk -5 tbsp chia seeds -1 tsp vanilla -maple syrup to taste Mix all of that in a sealable container and let it sit in the fridge for at least 2 hrs. For the homemade strawberry basil jam: reduce 1lb of mashed strawberries in 2 cups of sugar and the juice of 1 large lemon until bubbles form or use your favorite jam! Assemble the pudding by layering pudding with jam and top with fresh strawberries! Enjoy! Let me know what fun chia pudding combos you like!

Strawberry basil pavlova šŸ“šŸŒæ ā€˜Tis the season of fresh fruit desserts! I made this with a classic merengue, whipped cream, a homemade strawberry basil jam on top, and fresh strawberries. Couldn’t pick a favorite so here’s a dump of all the shots! Happy Mother’s Day to all our moms!!

Checked out a new Yemeni spot out in Brookline this weekend called @socotracafe.grill and loved it! It is the perfect brunch spot because they have a stunning coffee and ice cream bar. My friend and I absolutely loved their yemeni limeade and the cookie butter latte. They have a grill side of the cafe with authentic Yemeni food like shawarma and falafel and delicious classics like this gorgeous smashburger. We also tried the adani zurbian, a lamb and basmati rice dish that was delicious. Everything is made in house and this spot feels like a little oasis in Pittsburgh. I love it when new spots open in town that introduce us all to new food and cultures. You have to check them out!
