Tees Valley’s creative economy is here. And it’s moving fast. We were proud to sponsor Made Here. Shared Everywhere at @mimauseful , hosted by Tees Valley Business Club with support from @teesvalley_ca . Thank you to everyone who spoke and shared their insight. The message was clear: this sector has real energy, talent and momentum. From the 2026 @_tatemodern_ TurnerPrize coming to Middlesbrough to one of the UK’s fastest-growing digital clusters outside London, Tees Valley is on the rise. At Point North, we’re funding the social glue. The projects that connect communities and strengthen place. And we back individuals too. Through the Christine Carter Arts Fund, we’ve already supported 12 creatives since November — helping with the essentials that keep creativity going. Because when you invest in people, you unlock potential. And there’s plenty of it here. Whether you are looking for a grant to support your work or whether you want to support local creatives and community projects, consider reaching out to us. #teesvalley #turnerprize #artsfunding #supportingartists

What does it mean to care? For us, it means listening to the voices of people in our communities and taking action. Thanks to @northumbrian_water , we got the chance to do just that at Ryhope Engines Museum. We heard inspiring stories from Keith and the volunteers at Ryhope, explored career paths with Helen & Vicky from Northumbrian Water, and had real conversations about what matters most to young people today with @rylie__sweeney . We look forward to reading Rylie’s report and taking the next steps to turning ideas into reality. Thanks to our amazing partners and @rylie__sweeney for helping us make this youth workshop happen. We're looking forward to the next steps and showing young people that we too care. We care about their ideas, their ambitions and the future they want build.

We’re not crying, you are 🥹🥹 This is what our grants are there to do: make today better and tomorrow brighter for local people across County Durham, Tees Valley and the wider North East. By supporting local charities and voluntary groups like @pimmsandneedles , who know their communities best, together we can (and will) make a difference. Groups like the Silvers Members Group in Darlington bring together ladies and get them involved in arts and crafts. Many of the ladies are retired and have lost a loved one they cared for. Some members made the decision to relocate to stay near family and others are simply seeking friendships in later life. During our visit the ladies made tote bags with @litter_bug_crafts & they were so chuffed with the final product, they put on their own ad-hoc cat walk, modelling their design. Their smiles, laughter and enthusiasm filled our hearts with so much happiness and warmth. We want to say a huge thank you to our donors and supporters @_learningcurvegroup , @robsonlaidleraccountants , @weareuminetwork , Thorne & Derrick, The Varley Family Foundation & the many more donors who put into our collective Community Grants Programme, to make supporting projects like @pimmsandneedles possible. 💜 And to all the ladies, thank you for welcoming us in to your space and for sharing your story and delicious homemade cakes with us.

There’s something powerful about a kitchen full of laughter and the smell of freshly baked bread. At @sunnisidecommunityassociation , a group of women are doing more than baking. They’re building confidence, sharing stories and supporting each other through life’s challenges. From kneading dough for traditional stotties to deciding between treacle or golden syrup (grandkids approved 🍯), every session is shaped by the women in the room. One of the member’s inspired the day’s baking, sharing her mam’s memories of stotties and finally getting the chance to make her own. In a village where isolation is a real barrier, this community space is a lifeline for everyone in the village. For carers, for those feeling alone, for young people feeling so far away, for anyone needing connection. It’s somewhere to belong. We’ve proudly support Sunniside Community Association since 1996, and our supporters: @_learningcurvegroup , @robsonlaidleraccountants & Eldon Financial have kindly supported the baking group through our community grants programme, bringing people together, reducing food waste and putting good food on the table. When people come together like this, communities don’t just survive, they grow stronger. #community #countydurham #costofliving #communitygrants

We’ve got aliens, a touch of @bbcdoctorwho and a hint of @starwars magic. 🛸 Safe to say, our team took this year’s sci-fi egg challenge to another universe. Which one wins your vote?

Last Autumn, community groups across Stanley and County Durham came together to create over 400 unique lanterns as part of Glimmer by @laura_brenchley for #LumiereDurham 2025. Artichoke worked with @teesdale_community_resources to provide workshops for Teesdale community members. Hear from Sarah, TCR Hub’s Operations Manager, on the importance of community engagement in large-scale events.
