For me, one of the most beautiful and moving moments during the opening days of the Venice Biennale was the reception hosted by the Denniston Hill Foundation and the short speeches given by its founders, Lawrence Chua, Paul Pfeiffer and Julie Mehretu. @dennistonhill @pmp2021 @juliemehretu @venice.art.biennale @carliergebauer @lawrencechuaa

carlier | gebauer is pleased to announce that @dennistonhill is invited to the 61st International Art Exhibition @labiennale di Venezia, curated by Koyo Kouoh. Titled “In Minor Keys,” the exhibition will run from May 9 to November 22, 2026 in Venice, Italy. “The minor keys are also the small islands, worlds amid oceans with distinct and endlessly rich ecosystems, social lives that are articulated, for better and worse, within much larger political forms and ecological stakes. Here, the evocation of the key and the island extends to an archipelago of oases: gardens, courtyards, compounds, lofts, dance floors - the other worlds that artists make, the intimate and convivial universes that refresh and sustain even in terrible times; indeed, especially in terrible times.” – Koyo Kouoh Denniston Hill is an artist residency founded by artists Julie Mehretu (@juliemehretu ) and Paul Pfeiffer (@pmp2021 ) and architect Lawrence Chua in 2004, located inside 220 acres of land traditionally tended by the Esopus people of the Lenapehoking, now known as the southern Catskill mountains in Sullivan County, New York. Images © Denniston Hill

Paul Pfeiffer's 'Vitruvian Figure (Juventus)' is now on view at @pinacotecaagnelli , Turin! Created in collaboration with juventus, the work consists of an immersive sound installation accompanied by a large-format image displayed on the billboard in two different points of the Pista 500. With 'Vitruvian Figure (Juventus)', Pfeiffer (@pmp2021 ) continues his decades-long investigation of collective behavior and spectacle, while responding to the specific history of the city and the Lingotto, a site linked to performance, speed, and the production of objects for mass consumption and desire. His incisive work engages audiences on both intellectual and visceral levels, revealing how the architecture of gathering spaces shapes our cultural identity and the ways we relate to one another. Photo © Sebastiano Pellion di Persano

"You hear it in all 75,000 voices all singing as one voice." American artist Paul Pfeiffer (@pmp2021 ) and former Dutch footballer and photographic artist Edgar Davids (@edgardavidsofficial ) have collaborated to create Crowds and Power - a sound installation that marks the entry point of Football City, Art United. The sound is drawn from a mix of recordings from the player’s point of view – from the roar of the fans to different football songs and chants. The installation takes inspiration from iconic stadiums like San Siro (Milan) as well as the sound of cinematic battle scenes like the Lord of the Rings to explore the anticipation and adrenaline-rush of stepping onto the pitch. Hear more from Paul and Edgar during your visit to the exhibition 🔊 Co-curated by World Cup and Champions League winner Juan Mata, curator and Serpentine Galleries Artistic Director Hans Ulrich Obrist, and curator, writer and filmmaker Josh Willdigg, Football City, Art United. explores what happens when two worlds both known for their flair and imagination come together. The exhibition is co-developed by Holly Shuttleworth (#HollyShuttleworth). Football City, Art United runs at Aviva Studios in Manchester until Sunday 24 August. 🎟️ Our Pay What You Can tickets – where you pay what you can on the day that you book – range from £3-15, and kids go free. 🔗 To book your tickets, click the link in Factory International's bio.
