This Saturday! 12/21/24, PMC’s second annual Gift Run to Fill the Vault with Optimist Youth Home and Family Services. Be there! We’ll meet at the PMC Clubhouse at 9am (21 E Howard, Pas), have some coffee and donuts, load up the gifts, and then head over to Optimist in Highland Park. What stuff should you bring? Imagine your first week in a college dorm. What kind of stuff would you need? Sheet sets, towels, toiletries, plates, bowls, silverware, blankets, a microwave, etc. So bring that stuff! And make sure it’s all new. We can’t accept used items. Be there! We’ll have a great time for a great cause. @pmc1907 @oyhfs @russbrownmotorcycleattorneys

The PMC Poker Run is this Saturday, and it’s a cemetery run! Start point is the Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena (historic hill climber and PMC member Byrd McKinney is buried there - Google it). Check in between 8-9a and then head out on the ride by yourself or with a group. Over 160 miles and 6 cemeteries later, and you’ll reach your destination at Garage 79 for cold drinks and good food. As always, we’ll be raffling off some great prizes from our event sponsors. Be there! Note: several of the cemeteries are non-active pioneer cemeteries, but a few are still active cemeteries. So remember to be respectful as you ride through.

Pasadena MC needs your help to give back! This year, we’re hosting our first ever "Gift Run to Fill the Vault” at Optimist Youth Home and Family Services! Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services is a non-profit organization serving youth in and at–risk of foster care and their families. The good people at Optimist provide a robust continuum of care for this vulnerable population. While many of the youth in their care won’t be home for the holidays, you can help make sure that Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services continues to be a place of hope and a home away from home for them. Who Are These Gifts For? Generally speaking, Optimist serves youth (ages birth to 25) but they especially need gifts for our older foster youth, many of whom are college students ages 18-24. They serve youth in and at-risk of foster care who live in homes, shelters, and residential programs throughout Los Angeles County. Here’s the plan: meet at the PMC clubhouse on December 16, 2023 at 9am for some coffee and donuts. Bring a gift or two from the list provided. Join us on a group ride from our clubhouse to the Optimist Youth Home and Family Services in Highland Park. Drop off the gifts, shake some hands, make some friends, and then grab lunch at a local spot in Highland Park or Eagle Rock. Good times! Quick fun fact: Optimist was founded in 1906 - one year before the Pasadena Motorcycle Club was founded! Here’s a list of gifts that OYH needs: Reusable shopping bags, non-perishable food/snacks, full-sized hygiene items, deodorant, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving supplies, menstrual products, unisex robes, shower shoes for communal bathrooms, sweatpants and sweaters/or other casual attire (various adult sizes), duffle bags and backpacks, gift cards (any amount: 99c Store, Marshalls, Ross, Target, etc.), laundry pods paper cups/plates, bowls and plates (microwave-safe and washable safe), small microwaves for individual rooms, sheet sets (for full-size beds), comforters/blankets (for full-size bed), basic kitchen supplies, bed pillows, non-perishable snacks, and toys for all ages to be distributed by OYH.

I picked this machine up a little while ago but never posted about it (who am I kidding? I never post about anything). Anyway, I’ve wanted a Buell for as long as I’ve wanted a motorcycle, which was many years before I ever even got one. Now I’m the proud steward of this dynamic machine. This is one of 384 Buell Thunderbolt S3Ts hand built in 1997. If you know the story of the early Eric Buell designed machines, you would enjoy this bike. Tube frame, tuned up sportster 1200 power plant that is a stressed member of the frame. Tour package includes hard saddlebags and a larger fairing. 6 piston Brembos with inverted forks and the most fascinating rear suspension setup I’ve ever seen. I do love this mean green god of thunder. Oh and look. It’s @theblinddonkey

I’m sure you’re sick of seeing @pmc1907 Greenhorn posts by now, but hey… it’s Greenhorn weekend! I thought I’d add a bit of history into the mix. This year is the 76th annual Greenhorn. We say this because it is the 76th consecutive year that the PMC has hosted the Greenhorn ride. From 1947 to 1979, it was an enduro ride which took place primarily off-road. The 1950 Greenhorn was especially challenging. 318 riders started and only 24 finished. From 1980 to the present day, it’s been a 2 day road ride and rally open to all riders. BUT, PMC has actually hosted 78 Greenhorns! We took over planning of the Greenhorn enduro in 1933-34, then some other club planned it, then a little thing called WW2 happened, and then we took it over for good. Cool story bro. Anyway, hope to see you there this weekend!
