What a weekend at the Leica Experience Days in Wetzlar!
Over the course of the entire weekend, Leica invited photographers, companies, and creatives from all over for an amazing meet & greet centered around photography. So many great conversations, inspiring seminars, and genuinely wonderful people all in one place.
A big thank you to Leica for organizing such a special event and for inviting us!
This year, we also brought along a scanner setup to demonstrate how easy it can be to digitize negatives and slides. With us was the completely upgraded and reworked 2025 Plustek 135i — a really impressive device that makes film scanning surprisingly simple while delivering excellent quality.

Scanning a medium-format Hasselblad frame from our recent fashion shoot with the Plustek OpticFilm 120.
Whenever we need really high resolution but drum scanning is simply too time-consuming, this is usually our first choice. Watching the negative appear on screen never gets old, and together with SilverFast the results are consistently reliable. The medium-format film holders in particular make the whole process smooth and stress-free.
A small but very satisfying step in the hybrid workflow.

Unboxing something new at SilvergrainClassics today.
The Plustek OpticFilm 135i just arrived. A scanner for batch scanning 35mm negatives and slides, aimed at a simple and practical workflow.
First impression: it’s surprisingly compact and feels very well built. Nice materials, solid in the hand.
We’ll check it soon with test targets and see how the promised technical specs hold up in practice.
