An adventure that started over 5 years ago -
In 2021,
@tintin_des_bossons and I set out to be the first women to ski from Chamonix to Zermatt in one go. Since then our friendship has grown and interest in the route has also grown.
This week, we set out together again, hoping to improve our own time, and also improve on the time set last year by
@gagiperri and
@clara_masserey . We had doubts about the weather (temperatures well above the seasonal norms, some last minute changes), but we had so much help and support from our community, and inspiration from William and Mathéo, so we decided to go for it.
It was a true adventure of the spirit and the body â traversing an incredible landscape and literal and figurative highs and lows. I once again witnessed Valentine digging deep into the depths to continue on and do no cease to be inspired by her.
I hardly know where to begin in my gratitude â for the people who joined us, supported us, believed we could do itâŠthe light breeze that cooled us at just the right time, the golden eagles that soared over us, close enough to look them in the eye.
22 hours and 35 minutes after leaving Chamonix, we arrived in Zermatt, setting a new womenâs record and getting the chance to write our names again in the history books. âșïž
