When I first heard Pluggnb, the beats were Infectious. I couldn’t believe the R&B dreamy melodies layered over da classic plugg and trap drum foundation. i played goyxrd and xangang samples back 2 back. But the real magic came when Summrs & Autumn! took that foundation and pushed it to another level.
Before them, you had artists like D savage, Fauni, and Diego Money they were harmonizing on plugg beats. They were singing, but their vocals weren’t stretched and layered in the same experimental way. Summrs and Autumn turned that up they’d hit these super high notes, then balance them with lows, stacking and doubling their vocals nine times over to emphasize emotion in certain lines.
A lot of people focus on the beats when they talk about Pluggnb, but that’s only half the story. What made the sound so unique was how Summrs and Autumn engineered their vocals it wasn’t just about melodies, it was about feeling.
Really was youtube type beat producers and fans that created the term “pluggnb” based off the fandom of summrs sound. guys like @lincolnminaj@spookjamie & many more jus to name a few with the type beats getting big on youtube.
1st slide is summrs stating he did not coin the term people started saying pluggnb so he “ran with it”.
2nd Slide- Xangang explains it was not called pluggnb at 1st until summrs started blowing up and people started calling it pluggnb to put a name on the sound.
This is what makes this the best Subgenre of the New generation. Its a collaborative effort from Artist, Producers , & the fans in the community to create it. #pluggnb
