CONVERSATION: UnitePlayPerform presents Reclaim and Transform: Storytelling right relationship in design, material, and form #melbournedesignweek RECLAIM & TRANSFORM INITIATIVE Melbourne Design Week 2026 This conversation marks the launch of the first Reclaim and Transform collectible artwork + furniture series: Hybrid Habitat: Chrysalis, Elemental Sigils, and Unity Web. Together, these works explore a new design language grounded in material relationship, cultural repair, embodied care, and pathways toward the Symbiocene. @i_am_offerings will share her provocations to explore with a panel of incredible guests. “Waste does not exist, only materials without a relationship.” “Regenerative capitalism” is the contradiction of our time. Sustainability has been absorbed into the very systems it was meant to disrupt. So where to from here? Toward a shift. Away from maintaining broken systems, and toward transforming how we participate within them. Join First Nations artist, founder, and educator Melissa Gilbert (UnitePlayPerform) for a deeply personal conversation exploring how values, ethics, principles, and material decisions can reshape the way we make, collaborate, and build across art, design, architecture, and public space. Moving beyond sustainability, beyond regeneration, this session introduces Melissa’s relational design practice that treats design, material and form as living system with the potential for restoration, reciprocity, and systemic change. @i_am_offerings will be joined by her brilliant Melbourne Design Week material innovation partners Patricia Chircop @knovus_knitmelbourne Sam Davies Defy Design who’s collaboration contributed to actualised the new work Hybrid Habitat: Chrysalis designed by @i_am_offerings which will be launching MDW. We are deeply honoured to be in the conversation with Professor @glenn.a.albrecht Symbiocene philosopher, Author of Earth Emotions (2019). Ron Bakker — Co-founder of PLP Architecture, Leader of PLP Labs, Author of Smart Buildings (2020), Co-founder of CT Labs. Presented by UnitePlayPerform 16th May @abbotsfordconvent Tickets + full program via website + Instagram bio. #MelbourneDesignWeek

We’re pleased to support the launch of 𝘈 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘚𝘺𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯, released in alignment with UN World Creativity and Innovation Day. The guide champions a vital shift in design thinking, from reducing harm to working in partnership with nature to deliver net‑positive outcomes for people, ecosystems and future generations. At PLP Architecture, this strongly aligns with our commitment to regenerative, circular and nature‑positive design. We were pleased to preview the guide at Living Future 2026 in Seattle, where the response was hugely encouraging. With thanks to @symbioceneinstitute for leading this important work. Visit their website to download the guide📘 #Symbiocene #LifeCentredDesign #NaturePositive #RegenerativeDesign #Innovation

PLP Architecture’s Ron Bakker (Founding Partner) and Deepthi Ravi (Associate Partner) will be speaking at @living_future 2026, in Seattle. Now in its 20th year, the conference returns with a bold theme, “Designing the Next 100 Years”, exploring how we can design for longevity, resilience, and ecological harmony in the built environment. Ron and Deepthi will be speaking together as a 'double act', where they create a disagreement about architecture’s response to climate change and discuss whether we can plot a route forward…it promises to be a theatrical and inspiring talk! Living Future 2026 runs from April 14th-17th, and we hope to see you there.

A new silhouette is set to join Singapore’s skyline! Singapore Land Group Limited has unveiled PLP Architecture’s design for The Clifford. Rising 220 meters, nearly double the height of the original tower, The Clifford reimagines the next-generation workplace as a hospitality-led experience, representing PLP’s newest addition to Singapore’s built environment. The Clifford will become the first commercial building in Raffles Place to achieve triple Platinum certifications from BCA Green Mark, LEED and WELL, delivering more than 40% energy savings compared with typical office developments. Tina Qiu, Partner at PLP, comments, “By weaving hospitality and workplace together, we can encourage a vibrant ecosystem that enhances daily working life while attracting visitors and reinforcing the building’s civic presence. Our vision for The Clifford is to create a building that contributes meaningfully to both the city’s skyline and street life.”

We are pleased to announce planning has been submitted for the new 1 million sq ft. Whitechapel Healthcare and Research Campus in East London. Led by BGO in partnership with Barts Health NHS Trust, the scheme forms part of the newly announced Barts Life Science Cluster and represents a £0.75 billion investment into Whitechapel, projected to add £1 billion annually to the UK economy and create 1,325 new jobs. We are responsible for the design of two key buildings within the new Whitechapel Estate. The completed site will relieve pressure on critical clinical space at the Royal London Hospital, one of London’s most over-stretched hospitals, while delivering a generous new public realm rooted in the historic grain of Whitechapel, including accessible gardens, amenity areas and a restored east-west pedestrian route, that support health, research and everyday local life. @BGO @nhsbartshealth @dmfkarchitects @DSDHA @bd_landscape @avison_young_uk , @swecouk @AKTII @DP9 @giasurveyors

Across the world, we’re seeing the growing success of large, layered, mixed-use districts – what we call hypermixed urban developments. These are places where culture, commerce, homes and public life overlap – creating activity around the clock, resilient investment, and new opportunities for circularity at scale. At PLP, we’re applying this thinking in cities around the globe: 📍 1-2 – Bankside Yards – a developing cultural quarter on London’s South Bank 📍 3 – Tokyo Cross Park – a life-centric smart district in central Tokyo 📍 4 – Aerocity – a commercial and lifestyle neighbourhood in Delhi 📍 5 – Parco Romana – a major regeneration in Milan Find out more via the link in bio.

VISITOR FAVOURITE FIRST PLACE 🏆 Huge congratulations to PLP Architecture for their Canopy Crunch treehouse, our visitors’ favourite from this year’s London exhibition. PLP Architecture – Canopy Crunch 🌳🌊 A vast and intricate treehouse shaped around childhood instincts: climbing, hiding, exploring. Centered on a tree stretching over water, Canopy Crunch imagines urban life where nature, play and wellbeing are part of everyday experience, and curiosity leads the way. Thank you to everyone who visited, explored and voted. @plparchitecture
