The MN Walleye Opener is the one time of the year I actually try and catch em. Some traditions are better than others, this happens to be one of them. Wish it wasn’t snowing.
Every year, between the never-ending winter and the impending spring, a grey zone appears—both visually and theoretically. It’s trout season for my wife and me. I’ve found this doldrum to be an enjoyable respite from the windows and walls, and an excuse to traipse through soggy cow pastures and organic fields of last season’s cabbage. New substack is up!
Found an old warrior today. One of the most insanely built and powerful specimens I’ve come across up north. Caught it on the new @megabassamerica Karashi Spinner. Watched it eat!
If you knew Dixie you knew she was her own free spirit, always outside keeping tabs on her domain, never asked for anything, didn’t even like treats. This damn dog was the best little boat dog the world had ever seen, she was our special lady. For the first time in 15 years Sarah and I are without a four legged lil buddy. It feels so strange, hug them critters while you can.
