Submissions close this Sunday! DAWS and Baby G are ready to host our May event, sharing their feedback and insights on 25 WIP tracks.
DAWS is a DJ and producer celebrated by Australia’s LGBTQI+ community and wider electronic scene for crafting blissful yet introspective sets fusing house, techno, progressive house, and trance. She has ignited dancefloors at festivals such as Pitch Music and Arts, Wide Open Spaces, and Gaytimes, and played clubs including Amsterdam’s Lofi, Barcelona’s La Terrrazza, and London’s Night Tales. Most recently, she is set to release a new EP “Touch of Sapphic” on Jennifer Cardini’s label Correspondant.
Playback prioritises submissions made by women, trans, queer, First Nations, POC, and disabled folks - bringing these tracks to the front to ensure the broadest spectrum of our community possible is always heard.

This Wednesday, two true savants of all things percussive and low end, Rohan Robeiro and Kate Miller, facilitate a stacked night of sharing new music.
We’ll hear their insights and advice in between 25 diverse tracks by emerging producers.

Sonic aficionado Kate Miller is stepping in to co-host with Rohan Rebeiro for Playback’s April event, with Jonnine Standish set to be welcomed back in 2027.
Kate Miller is a producer, DJ, sound designer, and composer for games, film and the arts. The Body Verse founder spent 10 years in Berlin honing her craft and studying sonic arts, regularly playing European institutions such as Panorama Bar and De School. Her far-reaching sound traverses bass, techno, electro, IDM, and DnB and can be heard on releases for Butter Sessions and Companion as well as through mixes for Dekmantel, Ilian Tape, Rinse France, and many more international platforms.

For Playback’s next event, Rohan Rebeiro joins us as a co-facilitator.
Rohan is an experimental musician, composer, and co-director of Liquid Architecture. His work as a musician centres minimal percussion and hypnotic textures. His influence is heard as the drummer of cult band MY DISCO for over 20 years, through his productions under alias Kangaroo Skull on releases by Temporal Cast, Noise In My Head, and Butter Sessions, and through mind-bending live sets under his own name. Curating the Liquid Architecture program, Rohan is at the forefront of cutting edge experimental music from across the globe.
Currently touring the US as one of nine drummers in the awe-inspiring work Manifesto, Rohan will be jet-setting in to host our April edition, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Unveiling our first facilitators of 2026, Pureblast (FR)!
We are over the moon to welcome French producer, DJ, and live act duo Pureblast (fka Baraka) to facilitate a night of new music, mentorship, and community.
Pureblast features Cristofeu (DJ and producer) and sa+ga (DJ, singer, poet, author). Capable of transforming a concert hall into a dance floor or building up a club’s energy to the level of a punk show, the duo adapts to the different venues they take over, giving audiences a whole new experience of partying. They have performed at Berghain/Panorama Bar (Berlin), RSO (Berlin), Draaimolen (Netherlands), Essaim (Paris), Pitch Music & Arts (Victoria) and many more esteemed venues and festivals. On top of this, @therealsaga__ is a community advocate making change through the @audeladuclub collective.

For our final Playback event of the year, Toni Yotzi joins Hannah D as guest facilitators.
Toni Yotzi is a staple of the festival and club circuit across Australia. Her sets traverse neon-hued techno and prog to tripped out bass and dubstep, trap, and up-to-the-minute club tracks. She has played Golden Plains, Inner Varnika, Strawberry Fields, Echo Flats, and Pitch, as well as being integral in putting on Camp Doogs, a WA favourite festival. Toni has toured internationally, performed on Boiler Room and guested on NTS multiple times as well The Lot Radio, Beats in Space, and Noods.
We can’t wait to celebrate another year of Playback with our incredible community and hear from these pros.

Hannah D is a DJ, artist, label head, and one of Naarm's go-tos for progressive sounds. Hannah established TSBU (The Space Between Us), a successful Australian label which has released EPs from fellow local favourites such as Mabel, Al Dente, Georgia Bird (IN2STELLAR) and more. Recently, she has toured Europe and played landmark performances at the UK's Above Below Festival, Belgium's Hors-Sol, and b2b-ed with Moopie and Spray.
