“Stay Sane” feat. @beibeimusic out now!! “What’s greed? What’s need?” That’s the question that was on my mind while writing this album. It’s at the heart of the first three singles, but this is the song where I finally say it out loud… There’s something about the guzheng. I first heard Bei Bei play it at a Lunar New Year celebration at the Shops at Santa Anita in 2022. It sounded both ancient and luxurious — like the world’s first instrument and its most opulent at the same time. Timeless. Part of that is the instrument, part of that is her. She’s arguably the best player in the world. I wanted to capture that feeling in a song that reflects the world we’re living in. A time of unparalleled excess for some and the loss of basic human rights for others. To bring that paradox to life visually, I teamed up with my friend and filmmaker @coltonvantil , who conceptualized and directed the video at Noguchi Garden, a one-of-a-kind oasis hidden in the middle of a banking district.
