PLATFORM ARTIST SPOTLIGHT:
Hirari Watanabe
@hirari.w7
Hirari Watanabe is a dancer, educator, and fellow student who was introduced to dance in 2007 through Youtube videos and her local Boys and Girls Club of San Diego. Since then, Hirari has been locally involved with teams (such as Syde FX, Super Galactic Beat Manipulators, ImmaBeast, Soul Fresh Fam, Culture Shock SD, KM Elite), performed in numerous theme parks/companies (Sea World San Diego, Legoland California Resort, Disneyland California Resort, SD Zoo Safari Park, Insomniac Ent., LA Clippers), and danced with the likes of Dezzy Hollow, Rico Nasty, and Missy Elliott.
As of 2016, she was put onto a freestyle crew called
@wildnation_7 and has been growing alongside them since. She also co-founded an All Women’s Freestyle Battle in 2019 called
@ladiesfirstjam with Sierra Duarte on a mission to give back to the ladies of the SoCal Street Dance communities. Although dance started as a hobby for her, she aspires to always continue to grow and encourages everyone around her to trust the process, enjoy music, and keep on dancing.
