Hand for scale in the last pic! I made this fern moss on a torch behind a magnifying glass 🔍 with @bullseyeglassco . The obsidian came directly from the earth, picked up during my time in California last summer. Custom tree ring shelf also came from my hands!
This art is on display alongside another glassy moss piece of mine and lots of other amazing glass art by @chryslermuseum folks. "The Glass Experience" exhibition at @tccvadc is up until November 26th!

Shells, glass, wood, moss, lichen, and grief.
I am trying my hardest to transmute pain into beauty; to enjoy where I am while giving myself room to grieve a friend. When I picked up these shells and wanted to make butterflies out of them, I thought about how Ian had a talent for finding the beauty in everything. I made this peice in the span of a day and was reminded how easy it can be to create a special thing or moment if you care to try. Ian was a light in the world; selfless, caring, and kind as ever.
GAS TEXAS 2025 ✨️ My job this year was to be everything yall needed and to help @xojenniferalexis hold the weight of this conference. I was a personal assistant, art handler, registrar, DJ, problem solver, hug machine, printmaker, snack bringer, communicator, and gay glass dad. I think I wore more hats at this conference than I have at any glass job (thats a pun for all the cowboy hats I wore!) 🤠
I didn't do a great job at taking photos with all the people I love (theres so many of you) but heres some shots from this past week, including some art and random Texas moments! Very happy I got to go and make the magic happen. Shoutout to Jen, the UTA crew, board members, board assistants, and work exchange folks for all the hard work you put in to make it amazing (especially Jen, you are a powerhouse and it was an honor to be your right hand human🫡).
