Debuting my first complete jewelry set of hand made glass finials
I started playing on the glass lathe @pilchuckglassschool about a week ago and it was love at first touch. I can’t get enough of these elegant forms.
Chain, wire and findings are all silver.

Glass, Copper, Found Objects
I made this piece for group show “Hogar Dulce Hogar” curated by Cesar Garcia @zuaycreatex .
The show and this piece are on Display at The Cheech @thecheechcenter now from 6/22/24 to 9/29/24
Please go check it out if you can.
A huge thank you to @zuaycreatex for the opportunity to be in this show, to @thecheechcenter for having us and being so accommodating to their artists, to @csusbglass for giving me a space to blow glass, and to my dad @redd9146 for helping me build the copper cage from concept to finish.
This is my jumping off point for large scale projects, may the future hold many more
Dm for collaborations
I made jacks!
In fact I made 3 pairs of jacks and 2 tweezers with Shin Nagai of Maruko Tools.
Haystack offered a class this summer on making Jacks the Maruko way. I admire people that make their own tools and have been wanting to make my own jacks for a while. So I hoped on the opportunity.
The Class was amazing, in fact my whole trip to Maine was one of those cases where everything goes right.
I am so honored to have been able to learn with the skilled tool maker Nagai San and alongside so many great people.
The tools work great so far. What an experience to be able to make tools with my hands in mind and customize them to myself. I still have so much room for growth but super stoked on how my first tool run came out.
A big thank you to everyone that supported me to help me take this class. To the Society of Inclusive Blacksmiths for a tool grant. And to everyone that bought glass and raffle tickets that went to funding the class.

This project was hands down the best!! Between the use of resources and consideration of the local community, they really took the time to think this project through and choose its content intentionally. The implementation of nopales and pollinators on the project signifies the care that was used in choosing indigenous aspects as part of their inspiration. Their intent is to also ask the community to participate in designing tiles that will be used to add to the mosaic aspect of the project. As a community member, to have a piece of art that my children would be able to paint and have included in the project would be great! Please take a minute to vote and support this amazing team!!
We need your feedback for Pomona Public Art
The Home Team, composed of your very own Pomona Based Artists Dan Romero, Christian Ornelas , Aida Lugo Cantú and Elizabeth Redd, is up for a shot to make The largest Public Art Sculptor Comission of our time.
We are a team of artists that will combine metal, ceramics and glass for a one of a kind sculpture representing the talent of our region. Pictured is a section of the model of our proposed idea, come learn what materials we are using for each part.
This Monday 4/13 the city is hosting a community feedback day where you can come and see the designs proposed for the site, The Siemens Building on Reservoir St. You will have a chance to talk to us and the other artist applying to the project.
So come by and let the city know you want to see this comission taken on by its own artist team and let us know what changes you want to see in the design before the final vote.

Plasma Wands
Made this witchy season, what better day to post than Halloween.
These are my first wireless plasma pieces.
Behind the wands is a black plasma piece I made a couple years ago at Pilchuck. The wands light up when they are within range of the electromagnetic field of the plasma piece that is plugged in.
They are borosilicate glass made on the lathe and filled with neon gas at low pressure.
Made at Pilchuck @pilchuckglassschool
What would you do with these?
Introducing Arts Connection’s 2025 Artists Microgrant Recipients!
We’re excited to introduce the 26 artists selected for the 2025 cohort of
@artsconnection_network Artists Microgrant Program. Each of these visionary
creators reflects the depth, diversity, and imagination that make San Bernardino County
such an amazing place to live and create.
Through this program, artists receive direct funding to bring to life projects that spark
community connection, celebrate cultural storytelling, and inspire creative innovation.
From murals to music, poetry to performance, these artists remind us how creativity
builds bridges and how local art shapes the heartbeat of the place we call home.
What began in 2019 with just five $500 grants has now grown to distributing over
$15,000 each year. Thanks to the continued partnership of @usbank and other
generous supporters, this initiative keeps expanding opportunities for artists whose work
uplifts and enriches our shared cultural landscape.
We’re deeply grateful to @usbank for believing in the power of artists to strengthen
communities and for helping us continue to grow a creative future for San Bernardino
County.
Making Rollie Pollies
There is gray in the furnace at @pilchuckglassschool and I’m taking advantage and making Rollie pollies and working hard to get better at the form. Lots of trial and lots of error, but the hard work is paying off.
Swipe through the photos to see me working in the hot shop along side photos one of my favorite isopods so far.
Shoutout to @wallooce for the photo shoot of me working.
That a wrap for the Main Hot Shop @pilchuckglassschool
Shout out to the ones doing the heavy lifting
@jmederos97 and @noncrystalline_journey . They bailed out the continuous melt furnace on the main pad of Pilchuck’s iconic hot shop. 🙏
There’s still hot glass in the annex as the season winds down.
