@claw_and_hammer opens April 4th in the previous Scales & Shells location on Thames Street in Newport. The restaurant stands out in its offering of stone crab, not frequently seen on Rhode Island menus) while also featuring classic seafood dishes on the menu. During a tasting preview last Wednesday, we tried a few menu items including the bone in ribeye, lobster roll, crab cakes and a few items from their raw bar. The decor embodied classic Newport charm, with nautical paintings and elegant seating. Though replacing an integral restaurant to Newport’s food scene, Claw & Hammer captures the elegance of Newport beautifully. Reservations are now open on their website. 🌊🐟🐠

What a magnificent night @thechanler during their 3rd Annual Harvest Dinner celebrating the local produce our mighty ocean state provides us with. The evening started off strong with a grazing table that featured oysters, fresh out of the oven pizzas and an array of charcuterie offerings. Once the rain cleared, we all walked to our tables, each situated on the lawn in the back of The Chanler so we could take in the beautiful ocean view and historic hotel. Twinkly lights surrounded us as we dug into dishes like ratatouille, bbq chicken and my favorite, the confit potatoes. The night wrapped up with pie options of blueberry, peach and apple with homemade gelato. Having my mom as my date only made the night better!

Some shots I took for @bella.caban birthday. I’ve decided to start posting again on my main feed after years of only posting to stories. I remember a few years ago not knowing what to do with this account, scared of being perceived and scared that what I posted wouldn’t be perfect or right enough for my “audience”. Throughout the years of posting silly, spur of the moment Instagram stories, I’ve come more and more to terms with the fact that you don’t have to be perfect to take up space, even if it’s on your own feed. I don’t have to be fully myself to showcase myself in a semi permanent way online. So, if you notice I’m uploading my good times and work on this page more consistently, there ya go. I have such a cool life that I’m incredibly grateful for and I’m excited to start sharing it more again. I’m still getting a hang of this Instagram caption thing so let’s just end it with this, we’re all works in progress and just because we aren’t “there” yet in some ways, doesn’t mean we can’t showcase how we are “there” in others. 📸✌️
