Some simple laundry habits to help reduce microplastic shedding from clothes during washing 🧺
👕 A single load of washing can release millions of tiny fibres into waterways - and the amount released depends on factors such as fabric type, wash cycle, detergent and water temperature.
The good news is that advanced treatment plants can remove up to 99% of microfibres from water. Until every water treatment plant has these capabilities, we can take simple steps to reduce microplastic pollution. 🙌

Chances are the balance was off. Follow the 50/50 green and brown rule and remember that compostable packaging can be included as part of the “brown” stuff. Just be sure it’s 100% paper or certified home compostable (double check that there are no bits of plastic!)

Koalas rely on trees for food and shelter, and small actions like planting the right species can help restore their habitat. 🐨
In Victoria, the Mornington Peninsula Koala Conservation group and local volunteers have been working to rebuild wildlife corridors and protect one of Australia’s most well-known and globally loved animals. 💚🌱
Since 2019, more than 100,000 indigenous trees and shrubs have gone into the ground, including over 25,000 in 2025 alone. The group has also benefitted from a grant from @planetark 's Seedling Bank to support that effort.
