This piece was born from @pompomartmarket ’s theme “Sweet Cottage” and a reflection of my April — a reminder to protect my own space and time a bit more 🏡✨
March was my first month of being self-employed.
I was determined to make more than my FT job so I was hella busy, yet at the same time, I was/am doing something I truly love, and that brought me a quiet sense of peace.
I realised how used to stress my body had become. Slowing down didn’t feel natural at first—I had to unlearn the idea that I always needed to be in a state of urgency.
This piece reflects how March felt to me: my head just above a still, calm pond, while beneath the surface I’m treading water furiously… even though, deep down, I know that if I slowed down, I would still stay afloat…
