Recently completed images of our Coburg House - a modest alteration to an existing kitchen and dining area.
The addition of a raked bay window maximises internal floor area without encroaching on the existing garden.
Opting for adaptive reuse of an existing space over huge extensions of house footprint, this renovation seeks to reinvigorate an existing heritage home with the use of a singular feature window and considered joinery pieces.

Recent images of Tender, a third space in Bulleke-bek run by Placement co-director Stephanie Kitingan and partner Nicholas Thorup.
Designed with sound as an anchor, Tender hosts movement and wellbeing practices alongside programs centred around local and international music and arts communities.
Materials and detailing were stripped back in response to extremely tight budget restraints, with much of the labour shared between a crew of friends and trades.
This grassroots project is a long-time passion brought to life, and a testament to the power of collective efforts creating meaningful impact.

SELBY HOUSE by @placement_studio • calm and refined interior renovation set on a lush acreage, Selby House focuses on smart joinery and thoughtful spatial reconfiguration.
The design reframes and redistributes the main living, dining and kitchen areas, bringing clarity and flow to a home filled with post-modern quirks.

Within just 65m², the studio brings in natural light and a deep connection to the outdoors, transforming a once-dark Victorian house into a serene, minimalist retreat inspired by Japanese design principles.

Modest internal renovation of a two-bedroom home in Essendon, reconfiguring the existing kitchen and laundry to improve amenity and create an additional study.
A boarded up window revealed an opportunity to create a large opening, joining the pokey kitchen and laundry creating space fit for entertaining and hosting family dinners.

Extension of a yoga and wellness studio to welcome a growing community in Collingwood.
I Am That Yoga is designed within a careful budget, using minimal flourishes; durable cork flooring, a re-insulated roof and polycarbonate skylights, and a roller door repurposed as a bay window drawing in natural light. The project enhances natural light and creates a greater sense of space within an existing warehouse typology.
This project is an example of how small gestures done right make huge impact.

This off grid regional multipurpose centre serves as a space for retreats, workshops, and programs centred around the arts, community engagement, and health.
Great to see how the built form has settled into the landscape over time - this project is a testament to the motivation and passion our client James has for rehabilitating land and Country, and dedicating his time and resources to creating a space that facilitates holistic wellbeing.
