Had a fantastic week in New York City delivering a National Disaster & Emergency Management University L0105 Public Information Basics Course for the New York Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Thank you Cynthia Altrock-Zobel for having me serve as one of your instructors along with Ali and Adam. Enjoyed most of the week in Long Island City and closing out the week on Broadway where Teresa Thompson Brady met me for a night out. Enjoyed dinner on top of the Marriott Marquis New York-Time Square and another night at Carmine's New York City and the show MJ the Musical. Visited all of our favorite spots on 5th Avenue and Central Park.

For the second year in a row, the Yvorra Leadership Development Foundation has selected three Public Information Officers among our annual award and scholarship recipients. Congratulations to: • Victorian Simmons – $10,000 Brunacini Award - “Bridging the Silence” - A Strategic Communication Study of First Responders and Post-Trauma Dialogue • Alex Babot – $4,000 Scholarship - Higher Education • Desmond Williams – $4,000 Scholarship - Fire/EMS Training All three are graduates of the National Disaster & Emergency Management University Advanced PIO Course.
