Ziping Wang

Trading the city for the coast — Casa Marguo is delighted to welcome Ziping Wang (@ping0_o ) as our artist-in-residence for the 2026 summer season. For her residency, Ziping will deepen a watercolour series first presented at Château La Coste last year. Working through an instinctive process, the works invite the unpredictable interplay of water, pigment, and paper, allowing the medium its own momentum. Responding to Menorca’s coastal landscapes, wild vegetation, and atmospheric light, the residency offers Wang a space to follow that language wherever the island leads. An open studio weekend will take place near the close of her residency. Details to follow. Pictured: 1. 🪸 Ziping Wang et Château La Coste vous présentent une œuvre en édition limitée de l’artiste, issue de son exposition actuelle « Chromatic Crumble ! » à découvrir jusqu’au 22 février dans la Galerie Richard Rogers. Les aquarelles de Ziping Wang documentent les traces éphémères et insaisissables de la nature – ces instants fugaces et ces transformations subtiles qui définissent le dynamisme silencieux du monde. Sa pratique artistique porte son regard sur le paysage en perpétuelle mutation qui s’étend au-delà de la fenêtre, où les saisons se déploient dans une infinie variété, et sur le voyage libre des éléments naturels : la graine dérivant sur un chemin merveilleux et inexploré, le fracas incessant des vagues contre les galets du rivage, et la dérive aérienne des méduses dans les eaux ondulantes. Ces scènes, empreintes d’imprévisibilité et d’impermanence, ne sont pas de simples sujets pour Wang ; elles sont intimement liées au processus même de l’aquarelle. Her practice turns its gaze to the ever-shifting scenery beyond the window, where seasons unfurl in endless variation, and to the untethered journeys of nature’s elements: the seed adrift on a marvelous, uncharted path, the relentless crash of waves against the pebbles along the shore, and the weightless drift of jellyfish in undulating waters. These scenes, marked by unpredictability and impermanence, are not merely subjects for Wang; they are kindred spirits to the very process of watercolor itself. In the Auditorium Oscar Niemeyer, Dennis Miranda Zamorano unveils a new body of large-format works that unfold like portals—leading viewers on a mythic journey through memory, ritual, and the unconscious. The space becomes both sanctuary and stage, where painting is not mere representation but remnant, rite, and threshold. Meanwhile, in the Galerie Richard Rogers—a suspended glass structure stretched between landscape and horizon—Ziping Wang transforms the space into a rhythm of captured views and visual fragments. 💫💫I am pleased to annouce my first solo exhibition “Act Normal” in Berlin with Peres Projects. I have been working on this body of works for the past year. Drew inspiration from Ancient Roman Fresco painting’s architectual style, I incoporated more architectual elemets in the creative materials: the paintings acts like windows or portals giving a sneak peak to a distorted landscape. I am interested to see how this exhibition to be precieved in different cultural contexts where characters and words losing its legiablity, thus become purely color and shape.💫💫 The open reception of “Act Normal” will be on Friday, Nov 29th 6-9pm at Karl-Marx-Allee 82, 10243 Berlin.
