Very excited to produce these videos! "The Clown Who ..." series are short video slideshows featuring artists I’ve worked with to create original and eccentric clown acts, with an emphasis on the absurd. Other titles coming soon: The Clown Who ... Wanted to Be a Plastic Bag, ... Talked to Chickens ... was Eaten by a Suitcase, The Clown With a Barbie Problem ... Dolphins in His Bathtub. Subscribe to my YouTube channel to see each new video as they're posted. https://youtu.be/5q4G9pQyQWU?si=BiRAo6xzc6Y3hzKN #clown #clowns #physicalcomedy #physicaltheatre #tango #tangodance #physicaltheatretraining #comicdance #comedy #dancereels @ideagardenorganiccreative @physicalfool @nickhernbooks #nickhernbooks Enjoy!

Office of the day (well, last Saturday's office technically) : the beautiful @walesmillenniumcentre auditorium, made of pine wood (I think?) Empty and quiet rows of seats, snapped off-centre from the balcony to show off the size of this huge modern theatre, with it's smooth curving balconies and the stage in the upright corner of this image. This was my second visit to WMC as an audio describer for @vocaleyesaudiodescription , describing Cruel Intentions The 90s Musical on this occasion with the brilliant Jo Myers. Looking forward to my next visit! Such a gorgeous building inside and out with absolutely lovely staff! #audiodescription #freelancelife #accessibleevents #officeoftheday #theatreforall

Last day of the Fresh Streets conference for us space cadets and aliens. Inspired by keynote speaker Brian Eno this morning (!!) 👀and his theory that: “Play is how Children Learn: Art is how Adults Play.” It’s been great to represent together and have the chance to meet and connect the dots of our Space Station programme, meeting with partners, artists and the incredibly talented community that is Outdoor Arts and Street Theatre in the UK and far beyond. Great work from @outtherearts_uk and @circostradanetwork in pulling it all together. #OutdoorArts #StreetTheatre #NASAUK #SpaceStations #GroundControlToMajorFun

Selfie in front of the poster for A Christmas Tail (spelt t a i l like a dog tail) "a pawesome adventure for all the family". Featuring a white fluffy puppy in a Christmas hat, a big top circus tent in a snowy landscape. We open on Tuesday at the Stables in Milton Keynes! No real dogs, but some very real idiots that I'm delighted to have joined for this project. . . . . . #theatrelife #familyshow #miltonkeynes #wavendon #circus #christmasshow #clown #devisedtheatre #performer #showposter #dizzyodare

Another day, another office! Describing Cluedo2 at Fareham Live for VocalEyes. Image 1: the empty rows of red seats before the show begins. The stage is framed by a three sided rectangular arch with jagged edges. Another smaller one is a bit further back. A model mansion house is against a large floor plan (a giant cluedo board) takes up the back of the stage. Image 2: a phone loaded with williams AV software and some cheap headphones. The phone screen offers options of show relay or audio description. The audio description channel is selected. Hadn't seen this system before. It works over wifi and seems pretty good. The venue provide the device and the headphones. Image 3: my set-up from in the tech booth. I have direct view of the stage (which is rare! Usually, it's a grainy video relay), there's my laptop with my script and a small sound mixer with a headset with integrated mic so I can hear the show and be heard by my listeners.

Image 1: What was a stunning full moon rendered to a glaring white dot in a dark sky, the half illuminated face of Tintern Abbey with poetry projected onto it -shot at an angle, only the words Abbey and all her pride are discernable. Image 2: At night, arched windows made of intricate stone work illuminated by glowing blue light. Image 3: At night, a huge oak is lit up by soft golden light from below as moonlight spills over the edge of a dark ridge in the landscape behind. An utterly stunning production by @wyevalleyriverfestival at Tintern Abbey this weekend: Shadows of Tintern. My photos do not do it ANY justice and are also missing the many sounds that inhabit the abbey alongside awe inspiring installations. Delighted to be working here on the Accessibility team. #tinternabbey #installation #tourguide #shadows #gothicarchitecture #cistercian #accessibilty #soundandlight #tintern #southwalesevents

Blurb below the image descriptions. Image 1: 5 people sit in a circle in the woods on a sunny day. 1 chair is empty. Image 2: A small caravan peeks out amongst trees and ferns. A small wooden building is in the background. Image 3: Garth makes notes by a firepit. A table with a hotwater bottle, pens and paper is in the foreground. Image 4: A video of Sophia, a short white non disabled elf-like person dances loosely in the woods researching movement patterns to match the song being created (musicians not in shot) Last weekend I co-hosted the first @nasauk Space Station alongside @safetycatchltd and @hannahgreenspace . We invited some of our members to join us in the wonderful Whirlygig woods for a week-end of creative investigations! ✨️ I loved it. Had a wonderful time hearing about everyone's projects and brainstorming with them. I think we're all looking forward to the next ones. Huge thanks to @_wildrumpus for giving us space to be. And to Jeremy Shine, our caterer extraordinaire.

Blurb below the image descriptions Image 1: An upward shot of a slim vertical banner for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with rows of yellow stars on a blue background, the show title, and Chitty hung from the top of Oxford's New Theatre. Image 2: The stage with a blue title cloth in place, huge letters spell out Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. A wavy brass arch frames the stage. A bright light glares from above the stage. Image 3: The show poster reads "A Truly Srumptious New Production. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang". The flying old-fashioned car hovers above a cityscape. Below her are headshots of Adam Garcia, Liam Fox, and The Vivienne. I'm really enjoying following Chitty on her tour as an audio describer for @vocaleyesaudiodescription . I look forward to each show I get to describe. She started off in Southampton back in May, and tonight, I described her in Oxford with @thevivienne_ as the Childcatcher!!!!! The Vivienne is wonderfully wicked and a fantastic addition to this enchanting production. Tonight's performance also featured multiple understudies who absolutely nailed it. So. Much. Respect. Jonathan and I will catch up next with @chittyontour at The Curve in Leicester for another audio-described show. . . . #chittychittybangbang #musicaltheatre #livetheatre #audiodescription #accessibilty #sightloss #livingwithsightloss #blind #rnib

Blurb below the image descriptions Image 1: Side view of the Globe stage. Balcony seating in the background. Bunting against the blue sky of the roofless theatre. Image 2: Programme cover of Princess Essex. A Black woman in a red dress with a pageant sash and crown askew. She hushes us from within a white mirror frame. Lush to be back at @the_globe , 6 years on from my audio describer training with @vocaleyesaudiodescription . Excited to finally be describing a show here! And a very brilliant one at that - Princess Essex by @anne.odeke Excellent writing. Strong cast, led brilliantly by Anne, who is a friggin powerhouse on stage. Princess Essex is a joyfully raucous retelling of Essex herstory, a radical tale of Black history and intersectional feminism from the early 1900s. The audio-described performance is at 2pm on the 28th of September. Princess Essex runs until the 26th of October. #audiodescription #livingwithsightloss #livetheatre #shakespeare #newwriting #londontheatre @rnib
