PHUZZ ★ WAKE RADIO presents…the long-awaited WISHY INTERVIEW! 💫🎸
On April 9th, Wake Radio correspondents Aamori Gaines and Abby Hoyt visited the Phuzz Phest Music Festival in Downtown Winston-Salem. Together, they interviewed Wishy, the all-encompassing, genre-defying indie rock band from Indiana. Ahead of Wishy’s set that night at Phuzz Phest, Abby and Aamori sat down with the band to discuss their influences, their advice for college artists, and of course, their top three artists. Swipe to dive into their conversation! 🤟
Huge thanks to:
@wishy_music_777 for taking the the time to speak with us! You guys were so awesome!
@phuzzsounds@estrangers & @diannalaterra for making this interview possible & inviting us to Phuzz Phest!
HELP! ❤️🩹 @Designertheband guitarist Nick took a tumble after his stellar performance at Phuzz last month, and broke both of his heels. He’s been through surgery and is recovering, but will be unable to work his normal job for several months.
Pitch in and help Nick out via the GoFundMe link in bio!

Earlier this month, Phuzz Phest descended on downtown Winston-Salem for the first time in a decade, and SE contributor @karladaisyjames was there to take it all in. Her impressions? Even after all that time away, organizers hardly missed a beat. More than sound logistical execution and quality music, Phuzz served up what downtown, multi-venue festival should aspire to: a momentary, community-oriented suspension of reality. At the link in bio, read about a weekend on which every choice is the right one, time is merely a construct, and the wandering is half the point.

It was such an experience capturing some of the artists performing at the Millennium Center. I haven’t lived in the area long enough to have remembered the past days of Phuzz Phest, but following this comeback, I think we can expect exciting things in the future!
Thanks to all the bands and artist that came and showed out, as well as @phuzzsounds - it was a blast!
