The Lab is a monthly showcase that serves as an experimental space for underground and emerging artists to showcase work, develop projects, and find professional opportunities, providing a safe and accessible venue for creative community members to connect and create together.

The Lab is curated by D.O.S.E. Artist Collective, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Winston-Salem, NC. Their mission is to provide opportunities for artists to experiment, collaborate, and share work with the community - in the form of affordable housing, studio, and gallery space. Their vision is to support creative endeavors in the community.

I have left my beloved role as Community & Operations Director for The Art SHAC to devote more time to my current book project, 'Coyote Pedagogy' and to grow my projects with and , where philosophy, poetry, and praxis come together en la resolana for some good ol' fashioned pláticas. ❤️🔥
My first program relaunch is 'Coyote Book Club,' a monthly, free, hybrid study group, where we'll be mapping Latinx Literature Land — starting with 'Occupied America' by Rodolfo Acuña — El Padrino de los Chicanos. 🙌 (Reach out to me if you're having trouble finding a copy)

Through this lens, we'll hold a space to process the current dimensions of the global polycrisis together — exploring Latinx concepts such as zozobra, nepantla, and susto.
We will meet in-person at D.O.S.E. in Winston-Salem and online on Zoom at 6:05 pm to 8:35 pm (EST).

Bring your own handiwork / craft, snack, and drink for this low-stakes alternative happy hour. No pressure to finish the book but try to, at the very least, skim it or know the book's major themes.

All of these individuals and even the ones I’ll list not pictured are the reason why The Lab exists and runs its mission the way that it does. Since 2022 of starting in a parking garage. The inception of transforming a space into another purpose you would’ve never imagined. Holding space for musicians and makers to vend and perform for the first time.
To become a catalyst for creatives to jumpstart their creative career in any way shape or form is what we will continue to do so thank you EVERYONE: Marley, Brennan, Leo, Cameron, Zeré, Joshua, Eden, Ella, Liam, Ansel, Grace, Chance, Cam, Sav, Kendra, Lawrence, Mad, Bryson, Brice.
