Amazing scene captured by my Grandparents in Northern Michigan. Here you see two common loons diving after bass in shallow water. These animals are incredible, and have always been my favorite, as they are nature's ideal fisherman with bone density designed for diving. As long as I can remember there have been loons on Lake Shupac and my Grandma even made me a Jr Loon Ranger as a kid, a proud moment in my life. Sitting at the Billings airport, looking back on an incredible trip with my Grandfather and some fantastic anglers. The folks at @bighorn_angler are amazing with some of the best guides I've had the pleasure to meet and a truly iconic fly shop and lodge. The Big Horn river is a truly outstanding fishery with a very healthy wild trout population with a frequency and average size trout which likely surpassing expectations for any other tailwater. I cannot recommend these folks enough. Looking forward to getting back to WNC as spring gets into swing and fishing heats up. Maggie Valley Fly Shop is re-stocked and ready for Spring! I got our fly order in this week and we re-stocked tippet and leaders as well. We have a full selection of @korkersfootwear in most sizes 8-13 for mens and 6-11 in womens also a full selection of additional felt snd felt studded soles. Starting this weekend, we will also be back to our normal hours of operations 6am-5pm and will remain that way until next winter.
