You’ve probably seen #RopeDart and felt curious about it. It moves fast. It wraps around the body. It looks technical. What most people don’t realize is that Rope Dart is learned in pieces. You start with tethering, how the leash connects to the wrist. You learn where the wrap sits on your torso and how it holds. You explore how the weight travels from a knee shot and how to guide it into the next connecting move instead of reacting to it. When you slow it down and build it step by step, it starts to click. On April 30 from 7:00–8:30 PM, Nate aka “Ni3” aka @3rd_gen_isler will be teaching Rope Dart at the Community Education Center on Lancaster Ave in University City 19104. Nate has been training since 2013 and is an instructor with Rope Dart Academy. He brings technical depth, real practice experience, and a clear teaching style into the room. This is a space to gather and try something new in a focused learning environment. Beginner friendly. We do ask that you arrive with a basic understanding of Rope Dart terminology and movement. This year he’ll be at the Wick & Grip workshop at Metal Inc doing welding + fire prop repairs ((at his leisure)) If you’ve got: • broken or bent spokes • loose or sketchy welds • props you want quick-wick attachments added to • anything metal that needs reinforcement …bring it. Here’s a peek from a recent Flow Fests event so you can get a feel for the vibe and start imagining this in Philadelphia. That clip is from Fort Lauderdale, but between NYC, NJ, Pittsburgh, Maryland, and Philly, we absolutely have the people and the energy to make this real. Philly alone has 250+ dedicated fire artists, plus flow artists, dancers, DJs, musicians, vendors, makers, and people who just love a good event. This is a full festival, and a niche meetup. 👯🤹🏾🪩🎶 You don’t have to spin #flowarts to belong here. Come dance, vend, teach, DJ, wander, hang out, or just soak it all in. @phillymoonjams regularly pull 50–75 people, so bringing 150 together for this feels very doable. DJs, vendors, activity hosts, dancers, ravers, creatives, and curious newcomers are all welcome. DM us for the interest form. Eight stages and zones, plenty of space to connect, and a chance to be part of the first-ever Philadelphia Flow Fest. Don’t underestimate it. Be part of it. Likely near Front Street and Erie Ave!
