✨ Where contemporary African design meets English farmhouse charm ✨
Malandela’s Guest House is in the midst of a thoughtful revamp, reimagined by owner Philippa Thorne — blending her Norfolk countryside roots with 25 years working across African craftsmanship and contemporary design.
From Ardmore-printed emperor headboards to Baobab Batik hand waxed ottomans, handcrafted Khokho baskets, and bespoke furniture by local furniture designer Bethu ‘Favourite’ Gina, every detail speaks to culture, craft, and collaboration.
“Designed with my childhood friend and UK-based interior designer Alexandra Langdon,
@alexandralangdonltd and in close collaboration with local makers, I wanted to combine African and English design references, grounding the space in craftsmanship while layering in modern comfort, ease, and functionality.” - Philippa Thorne, Owner
With smart TVs, air-conditioning, verandas set within botanical gardens, a restaurant on the doorstep, and interiors inspired by the creative energy found throughout Malandela’s, this is a guest house designed to be experienced.
Stay tuned as this dreamy space continues to unfold. 🌿
