Justin Hergett, a Grammy-nominated mixer and engineer, has garnered recognition for his contributions to music, including multiple RIAA gold and platinum albums. He has worked on Jason Mraz, FINNEAS, Ashe, among many others.
Justin is based in Pasadena, CA, where he has a professionally designed and built studio.
Drawing inspiration from his work for Tony Maserati and Andrew Scheps, Hergett has cultivated a reputation for crafting mixes characterized by clarity, polish, and thoughtful nuance. His extensive experience encompasses some of the most influential records of the past two decades, including mix engineering and assistant mix engineering for Beyoncé, Nick Jonas, Lady Gaga, Hozier, Green Day, and numerous other esteemed artists.
Beyond his mixing endeavors, Hergett has also lent his engineering skills to Jason Mraz and Ziggy Marley.
In my professional work, I derive the greatest satisfaction from creating a sense of space, depth, and clarity within a musical arrangement. This entails my expertise in mixing songs that are frequently characterized as atmospheric, expansive, and pristine. I generally prefer to emphasize the clarity and forwardness of the vocals, as I believe they often serve as the focal point of the composition.
With that in mind, I always prioritize the artist and song, ensuring that their vision is fully realized in the final product. I have a deep appreciation for music, regardless of its genre. Exploring the harmonious interplay of sounds is a cerebral challenge that excites me.
I would be honored to collaborate with you to bring your vision to life.

“IT’S NOT REAL” the debut album of the incredible @ellared is now out in the world! What an amazing journey, and such an honor to have been a part of this vision of a project! Just finished watching all the lore drop on the debut live stream and it connected all the dots for me that were there in the songs all along! I am always so impressed when an artist has such a cohesive vision and story to tell in a full album. Seeing it done so well reminds me of the meaning of what music can be at its best, storytelling! Please go listen to this top to bottom, and then again and again, you won’t regret it! Congrats to @ellared and everyone involved for creating a beautiful piece of art!
