Last week, as part of Pink Week at PGW, we proudly supported the @ihccalfandrural Scheme by auctioning a pink woollen blanket from our @woolintegrity Store, with all proceeds going directly to the scheme. Congratulations to Bruce Worsnop of Kowhai Lincoln, pictured here with Doug McKay and Annabel Busby, who was the successful bidder on the day. Thanks Bruce for your support of such a meaningful initiative!

Last week marked our final open-cry wool auction held in Napier, a bittersweet milestone for our industry. As we look ahead, the move to a single national selling centre is designed to benefit growers by boosting the number of buyers viewing and competing for clips, while continuing to deliver strong and timely returns. The final North Island auction was well supported by the wider wool community. It was recognised as a special occasion and a chance to reflect on the people, history and pride behind the auction system. It was a fitting send-off, with strong competition and spirited bidding across most lots, lifting prices and delivering an excellent result for growers. The next auction, on 30 April, will mark the first of our national wool sales. Head to the link in our bio to view market reports and sign up to receive them via email.

Pink Week done right 💗 What a great turnout this morning at our annual Pink Week Morning Tea. So many smiles, as we shine a spotlight on the impact the IHC Calf & Rural Scheme has across our communities. Now in our 44th year of supporting the scheme, we’re proud to continue raising awareness and funds to support people with intellectual disabilities and their families throughout rural New Zealand. 🐮🚜

Where your wool comes from matters. Always has. In the lead-up to a full launch of our Paeroa jersey, we’re going back to the source - the people, the land, and the process behind every fibre we use. Good gear doesn’t just start in a factory. It starts on-farm, with the right wool, handled the right way. We’re proud to work alongside those who know wool best. - Tough Comfort Made in New Zealand

It’s Pink Week at PGG Wrightson 💗 We’re proud to support the @ihccalfandrural Scheme, a programme that has been making a real difference in rural communities for more than 44 years. Since 1982, the scheme has raised over $44 million, helping support people with intellectual disabilities and their families right across New Zealand. It’s a cause deeply rooted in the rural sector, built on farmers doing what they do best, getting behind their communities and making a practical difference where it matters most.

Out on farm at the very end of Kaituna Valley, Banks Peninsula, Felix Radman-Brown recently joined Doug McKay to collect wool from Roger and Kay Lough at Rockwood. With Felix stepping into his role as Wool Operations Representative, he is beginning to take over a number of Doug’s grower clients. Trips like this are a great opportunity to spend time on farm, build those relationships, and understand each operation firsthand. The impact of the recent rain and flood events across Banks Peninsula was clear. Access to the woolshed had been limited for some time, and parts of the property, including the grass tennis court, have taken a real hit. Following collection, Felix was able to stay connected with the clip as it moved through the woolstore, including processing and testing, right through to sale at our re South Island C39 wool auction. Despite the challenges, it was great to get in, get the wool moving, and continue supporting Roger and Kay.

The wool market has eased slightly in recent weeks, reflecting growing global uncertainty, but the bigger picture remains positive. In her latest interview with Jamie Mackay from @thecountry_nz , Rachel Shearer talks through the recent softening in prices, why preparation in the shed matters more than ever, and how tighter supply could help support the market in the months ahead.
