Before sunrise this morning, while most of the city was still asleep, our team was already hard at work.
Over the last several weeks, the Harris County Pets transfer team worked tirelessly to prepare pets for an incredible opportunity: an out-of-state flight transport coordinated by @PetSet_tx and @WingsofRescue_official . Through this effort, we were able to transfer 42 cats and 31 dogs from our facility for the chance at new beginnings.
This wasn’t something that happened overnight.
It meant long days at the shelter, extra time spent preparing medical records and transport paperwork, and careful coordination to ensure every pet was healthy, accounted for, and ready for the journey ahead. Today, staff members woke up at 3 a.m. and arrived at the shelter by 4:30 a.m. to help make the transport possible.
Behind every life-changing opportunity like this is a team of people dedicating their time, energy, and heart to animals in need.
We are incredibly grateful to PetSet for organizing this opportunity and to Wings of Rescue for helping pets travel safely toward brighter futures. Most importantly, we want to recognize the dedication of our staff, whose compassion and commitment helped make today possible. ❤️
