After getting the chance to be a part of a fantastic program at the 14th Annual
@greenpointfilmfestival it’s about time to close the chapter on our short, “Addendum”
From its birth as a rough idea script for a lens test to its final iteration, the piece certainly had an unusual life cycle but settled into something I’m not only proud of but continue to react differently to upon further rewatches (which is kinda cool).
I was blessed to be surrounded by fantastic friends, without whom the movie wouldn’t be half of what it is.
Biggest of thank yous go to
@izzyraye_ for a deeply endearing and grounded performance. I think you’d be hard pressed to find someone who couldn’t empathize with you.
To
@ortetmas for your ever striking cinematography. It’s been without fail, the first thing people point to after watching our short, and for good reason. Every frame leaves a lasting mark.
To
@mushie_mia whose production design helped make sense out of how an empty old apartment could be a character in and of itself.
To
@emiliosubia for whom we were able to create a credit because you literally did…everything lol.
To
@karimakesmovies for whom this was one of your first times pulling focus, and you didn’t even bat an eye at the long lens push in for the final shot that couldn’t have closed the movie as well as it had without you nailing it.
To
@alexbenitez who jumped on to wing some uber creative lighting gags as the most generous way of catching up after not seeing one another for years.
To
@shmowells for making a very green jacket, blue in response to what I thought was just a throw away “aw man if only…”
To
@sardines___ for the most patience with me as I asked for ever more specific sound design notes.
To
@lullatone for nailing the score…literally on the first try. I wish I could have been able to give notes to work with ya longer but it was just so perfect from the get.
To
@jakemoore and
@harrison.rusk for donating lenses and lights. Otherwise the movie would be very very dark and we’d be looking at just a sensor image.
To
@_theotheremma_ whose voice recording of a scene that didn’t make it into the final cut was ever crucial to figuring anything out
