550 showings of @danwhitemagic ’s The Magician down. Nearly three full years in - never missed a single day, rehearsal, or performance. Still challenged and learning in ways I couldn’t have expected. Have tried, succeeded, and failed spectacularly at so much. Continuously grateful to help shine some stupendous and good deeds in our increasingly weary world. Ever grateful to be a part of things bigger than me - onwards we march. 😌❤️

2024 was a lofty chapter. Ever still, there was growth and the incredible fortune to frequently help make magic for people. 400+ shows deep into it, even. Perpetually grateful as days progress.

The view from my 100th show production stage managing for @danwhitemagic last night. This is a perfect view of the 7,000+ people I’ve watched turn around in astonishment, disbelief, wonder, and pure joy at the show at @fotografiska.newyork . With perspective on the past few years, the experience means the world — something I couldn’t have remotely imagined stepping up to a year ago. A number of learning curves, making sure everyone is taken care of, and ensuring there’s room for the show to grow. Dan White and the team — @thecloseupartist , @bsmithmagic , @matt.magic_ , @tonitakos , & @mtgdesigns are all dedicated, passionate, hard-working artists whom I’ve learned TONS from over the past few months. For my friends, check out the other insane artistry at @theory11 to see more of the Producer’s hard work. Crazy grateful for this challenge. Thank you, @bcrowel1 . Image Description in Alt. Text.

Some weeks past 26 but checking in to say what an amazing time I’ve had and continue to have stage managing for @danwhitemagic and working with the @theory11 & @fotografiska.newyork team. Excited to continue fine-tuning and watching the show’s expansion. While not exactly what I’ve set out to do or the exact lane — just about as close as I can get; predicting how your journey actually plays out is never possible but there are big smiles in the pictures above and that’s the whole thing we’re after. Feeling the largest amount of gratitude for @bcrowel1 for mentioning my name around Thanksgiving — I’m thinking of @kdwyer596 , @snootchiebootches , @djnutella , @jwhite900 , and @mcampbell_303 and doing my best impression of you each in this role. Lots of gratitude and room to keep growing and glowing here at the top of 2023! 🎈 Image descriptions in Alt. Text.

“Dear boy, when will you start taking yourself and your endeavors more seriously?” Found in the scattered drafts that are my phone notes dated May, 2019. Grateful to @thomasbrunot for these unedited Hasselblad X1D II photos! Image descriptions in alt-text.

“This is how we make up their minds for them in the morning, while they dream.” Tons of gratitude to @nickauer for programming a trial of a scene from a production I’ve been dreaming up for a long, long time. Grateful for @thetanknyc and the space it holds and offers artists at various levels and practices. And for the first opportunity to perform in New York, and it being my own work. Here’s to everything coming up for us all; may we continue to rise to everything we feel drawn to accompanied by the manner of executing that is most mindful. I think of the last quote Robin Williams spoke on screen: “Smile, my boy, it’s sunrise.” Photo Credit 📸: @claireatalbott Posted with permission from the audience participants: @caitmoira @thomas__little @ayokenwill @anne_custer Video Description in alt. text: A Caucasian male in a button-up shirt gestures as though grooming himself in a mirror that doesn’t exist off screen while another Caucasian male peers through blinds at a window behind him. Three other participants sift through toys and various grown-up items and accessories on the floor, placing them into three different pouches. The person in the button-up shirt turns and thanks them all when finished with grooming. Song Credit: Avril 14th by Aphex Twin

Gave thanks a few days ago for living two full years in New York. Grateful for 📸 credit @thomasbrunot in getting my social profiles updated, and for the mentor in @britt.vic who’s got me live on IMDb now. This summer’s got something in the works that’s got me all types of excited.

Tattoos I’ve wanted for several years on the first trip of the year with @phoebedorn . A balance of dark and light, good and bad — that one Sirius Black scene, if you will. Inspiration drawn from my favorite children’s book: “You Are Special” by Max Lucado. My retelling and reasoning for the tattoo if ya care to read: In a small village, there were these wooden people called “Wemmicks” who would go around and give each other stickers all day long. The Wemmicks with pretty paint, those that could sing well or jump high all received gold stars while those with chipped paint, funny voices, or who stumbled when they danced all received grey dots. One Wemmick named Punchinello had many grey dots. So many that Wemmicks would run and stick another for no particular reason. One day, he met a Wemmick who had no stickers at all. He asked, “What’s your secret?” and she responded, “The stickers only stick if you let them.” While he could barely comprehend, she said “I also go and see the woodcarver named Eli — maybe you should try.” The next day he set out, and felt embarrassed showing up with so many grey dots. Eli said, “Oh, I don’t care what they think. I made you, and I think you’re pretty special.” As Punchinello left, he thought “I think he really means it!” and a grey dot fell to the ground. While obviously a Christian narrative, I think it fits any higher power understanding we hold. Neither gold stars or grey dots matter at all — merely fleeting fixations along the passage of time. I put one gold star and one grey dot on myself forever as only I could discern why each is there, and otherwise I’m pretty special, and you are too! You already don’t have any grey dots on your body! 🥰 Thank you to @seaporttattoo and @nina.p.tattoo for the art!
