Community! Permatours is on the road for its 5th season — and the requests for support are coming in strong. 🗺️🌱 All over the Northeast bioregion and beyond, communities are providing space for learning, connection, & healing. ♥️ We’re on a mission to support them through learn-by-doing events that create lasting infrastructure, deepen relationships, and teach skills that serve long after each gathering. 🛖👩‍🌾🥬🦋 Over the past 4 years, we’ve completed more than 50 permaculture projects at 40+ community centers including food forests, pollinator gardens, compost and grey water systems, cob ovens, and natural buildings such as domes, tiny homes, greenhouses, & more. 🏡🐝 This work meets a real and growing need. In a time of ecological breakdown, disconnection, & housing and food insecurity, Permatours creates opportunities for people to come together—to build, to learn, & to care for one another and the Earth. We’re blessed to return to this epic naturally built straw bale home this weekend. Putting a greenhouse roof on it and putting up a hoop house. Very excited to return to Warner NH to continue learning from Brett, who’s become a natural building guru for us over the years. Eco construction in @kallikilla.familia Another dream come true 🤩 From the 20th-28th February I had the chance to participate in an eco building workshop with @permatours team, building a room for the kids of a family living in a beautiful land above Teopisca 1 hour from San Cristobal de Las Casas. Super grateful for the whole team and family. I learnt so much and finally got to realise another of my dreams, build a space made of natural materials. Martin and Déni with their 4 kids are a really kind couple who have built 3 beautiful and inspiring houses made of Bahareque( Earth, clay, sand, water and straw) along with lush permaculture gardens. Their kids, dogs and puppies were such a joy to be around. The food was soo good that I’m having trouble finding anything close to as good since. Scotty and Martin guiding us in all the processes of constructing a room based on self inspired action and showing the way for a present and future where humans follow their inspiration to create instead of forcing creation or action. A huge learning process for me who has a tendency to always want to do more than needed or over extend my energy until depletion. Also deep healing came for me being with people who are very comfortable with physical contact especially through dance and play. Again so blessed to have found such incredible people to work, build, play, sing, and heal with. Thank you ✨🙏🏻✨

When resources flow through trusted community leaders, impact happens immediately. Riana from Permatours shares how Flow Funding from Kinship Earth was directed to support Beloved Asheville following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. Because Beloved Asheville was already deeply rooted in the community, they were able to rapidly mobilize mutual aid, deliver supplies to isolated areas, check on vulnerable residents, and help rebuild communication networks and housing. This is what trust-based philanthropy looks like. Funds flowed quickly to people already doing the work. No bureaucracy. No reporting burdens. Just community helping community. Flow Funding empowers local leaders to respond when it matters most and to support regenerative futures everywhere.
