The end of an era. 😭I found Marcy’s store 9 years ago just randomly walking by. I couldn’t believe I had found a store that was plus-size and full of designer clothes in the cutest boutique I had ever seen. Anytime I had an event, a red carpet, a party or just wanted to buy something new, I went to Marcy’s store. Even when I moved to Austin, I ordered stuff from LA and she would ship it to me. Even got an outfit or two from Lizzo or Nicole Byer for my own closet. To find clothing that makes you feel beautiful and confident changes everything. Whether she helped me find a dress for an Oscars red carpet or an event when I started my own business, it was coming from Marcy’s store. She even sponsored some of my comedy shows because no one supports
female-owned businesses more than Marcy.
Then last year when I was going through a personal low, she gave me a job. I didn’t realize how much my self esteem had taken a hit until I had to show up everyday and try to feel beautiful. Marcy, Gabe, Rayna and Co. helped me in more ways I could have imagined. They gave me friendship, joy again, purpose, confidence and reminded me if I feel good on the outside, everything else will change too. Stella got her groove back ok 😂. Then the beautiful thing that happened is I got to help others who would come into the store feel good about themselves too. The Plus bus was a safe space not just for the
plus size community but for the LGBTQ community as well.I just want to express how much Marcy’s stores impacted my life all these years in LA and how grateful I am. It’s such a sad weekend that her last brick and mortar store is closing. Whether I was shopping there or having somewhere to go into work, it became my happy place. Please go give Perfect 10 and Marcy some love this weekend before it’s gone forever. Support her online moving forward because she truly cares and works so hard.
