DROP004: I<3LBP Finally revealing the design I have been the most excited for, my LBP design. I based this new design off of a promo shirt for the game back in 2008, but with a cleaner and more modern graphic with the Alien Lifeform costume from the newer game. I grew up with this game and it means so much to me to be able to make a shirt for it and be able to share my love. BTS002 For Drop003 After we had established the design and aesthetic I wanted for the teaser, I decided I wanted to have a retro game aesthetic for the promo. I knew just the right guy to ask, my good friend @render.pharma . He has an animation that I love to death and I knew I needed to work with him for this project immediately. I hit him up with a story board with the general idea of what I wanted for the teaser. I reference the iconic bonfire from the Souls games you always sit at to save, and some runscape elements with the armor. I asked him to tell me his process for making this work. We started out with a story board that I sketched out with general idea, themes, and progression. Nathan (a.k.a. @render.pharma ) got started and immediately started with setting up the environment and the flames. He asked me for my input on what could be improved or changed to make better. Nathan brought up ideas of the sword being dragged and the particle effects when the armored one sits down. We bounced back and forth with new ideas and framing, but he knew what idea and vision was. We went though roughs, crt filters, and everything in-between. We then solidified on the final being cut and posted the final, I added more grain and lowered the quality more to get that original vintage feel.

BTS001 For Drop003 For this specific drop and teaser I wanted obtain the feeling of a darker mood, and a drearier aesthetic. I then get in contact with world’s greatest producer @barlie.wav . Barlie has just rolled out his new album, “BAD BEAT: FRIENDS AND FAMILY EDITION” I decided to hit up the best prod ever. I approached him with an idea of a darker themed song and he delivered above and beyond. I asked Barlie to tell me his thought process of making the beat and walked me though it. It all started with the idea and storyboard with the animation, off that we started to involve the beat and cook something real good. It all starts with the sampling process, he listened to the Dark Souls soundtracks to gather inspiration for the Single. He then settled on the song “By The Time I Get To Phoenix” by Dorothy Ashby. His production process starts from chopping up the original sample to bring it back to life. He uses an app called Koala Sampler and started to chop it up, getting that sound. He found the recipe, adding in his drums, making a bunch of different one bar sequence, and filtering the samples. The final step approached, transferring the sequence into Logic. He adds in his final touches, he adds the intro progression, adding in the bells, mix and mastered, with the cherry on top being his unique prod tag. #iloveyou
