A team of 20+ painting students are putting on a show at the Camaleón.(307 Stiles Ave)
My class and I have planned for five weeks, curating, writing and promoting this upcoming group show. “Pendulum” our group exhibit will be on May 7th at 5-8pm. I will keep posting details and reminders.
One of my newest large works will be on the wall. I am tickled to be a curator and part of such a project.
If you are wondering what “Pendulum” is about, our curatorial statement reads “Percolating from the seams of social construction, Pendulum centers around humanism and spectacle: that which shocks, that which soothes, and that which prompts question. Woven in the fabric of finite existence, we pull at troubled fibers. Individual voices become a call for collective movement, for community, and for change. Let us all dance to the rhythm of time’s metronome. confronting the ever-ongoing swing of socio-political structures, Organic creation emphasizes the imperfection of the individual hand as a hopeful yet poignant confrontation to modern entropy.”
