To Bolt or Not to Be,
Even when I hate climbing, even when I hate myself, I love climbing. But for stupid, dumb ass reasons that I could not manipulate my mind out of, World Champs left me hurt and mad at climbing.
I knew I would love To Bolt. Before I had even watched it, before I had seen it, before I had touched it. I knew I would love it because I had decided to love it.
By the end of the first session I had only put draws in the first 5 bolt. The second, 7. Eventually I clipped on crimps I couldn't hold a week ago. Changed beta on the send on sequences I had struggled to put together only days before. Vert climbing! - as long as you decide to stay on, you might not fall off.
Thank you To Bolt for living up to your name, enabling my own internal wrangles and ultimately, reminding me that I love climbing because I have decided to. This one means more than I can put words to, more than makes sense.

I feel more at home and content at Céüse than most anywhere. Returning with friends new and old and climbing routes, new and old to me, I found the same sparkle of fear, pump, freedom and desire the cliff has always offered me.
I feel different and yet it all felt the same. I miss it already and can't wait for my next pilgrimage, whether in 10 years or 10 months 🫶🏽. but like hopefully not six years this time
