While we continue to witness the spectacle in the Philippine government, there are issues far greater than political agendas— including those that shape the futures of girls and children, who comprise roughly 35% of our population. We thank the House of Representatives’ Committee on the Welfare of Children for inviting us at Plan International Pilipinas @planphilippines to participate in the initial deliberations on the proposed Magna Carta of Children. We strongly support this measure as it establishes a unified, future-ready framework and stronger systems for coordination, localization, financing, and accountability for children’s rights in the country— especially in light of emerging risks such as online abuse and exploitation, climate change, disasters, conflicts, early pregnancy, and the persistence of harmful social and gender norms. The rights, agency, and meaningful participation of children are not just about data, statistics, or reports BUT about REAL LIVES, REAL DREAMS, and REAL FUTURES. As determined optimists, we will continue to stand with girls, children, and the most vulnerable, and partner with them and other advocates to champion their urgent needs and lived experiences amid the political noise. #StandWithGirls

This Mother’s Day, Geof and I just want to share a beautiful news with our family and friends— Magnus is already going to be a Kuya… an unexpected blessing and miracle after almost 8 years of trying. 🥹🙏✨ When we found out, we were in complete disbelief. After a difficult 2-year health battle, my medications reducing the likelihood of pregnancy, my history of PCOS and endometriosis, and the demands of our work at Plan, this was something we truly did not expect anymore. We have been healing, rebuilding, serving, dreaming, and continuously learning alongside an incredible team while envisioning the path ahead. So for God to bless us with another baby in the middle of all of these feels nothing short of His magnanimity and enduring love. After everything we have gone through, carrying this precious baby (despite our high-risk pregnancy because of pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and yes, even my age hehe) is a gift and privilege we will never, ever take for granted. Thank you, Lord, because You are truly the God of fulfilled promises... “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:9) Deep in my heart, I know that Geof and I were entrusted with our two babies because God has placed a special calling upon our family— to raise children who will love deeply, stand up for others, walk in faith, and become blessings to many through His overflowing grace and greatness. Our hearts are simply filled with gratitude. Gratitude for healing. Gratitude for family. Gratitude for prayers answered in ways we never imagined possible. And above all, gratitude to God — whose plans are always greater and more beautiful than our own. Thank you, Lord, truly for this healthy and beautiful pregnancy and life journey. We’re so excited for you already, our baby girl. 🌸 Kuya Magnus prayed for you. We all prayed for you. And in God’s perfect and unexpected timing, here you are. Unti na lang, then we can finally hold you in our arms. Pero stay put ka lang muna anak ha. Antay pa tayo ng saglit. 🩷 #KuyaNaSiMagnus

When we talk about climate and disaster risks, human mobility is central to how communities survive and adapt— especially for girls, children, and the most vulnerable. The ASEAN Climate Week 2026 has concluded, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share the insights and work of Plan International Pilipinas on mobility not only in climate action and disaster risk reduction, but also in anticipatory action and humanitarian response, while ensuring that gender equality and inclusion are meaningfully mainstreamed. We extend our appreciation to the @denrofficial and @iomasiapacific - IOM Philippines for the invitation and for convening this important dialogue to ensure that we stand with girls and the most vulnerable in the face of escalating climate and disaster risks. — Reposting from @planphilippines “Mobility is not experienced equally.” At ASEAN Climate Week 2026, our Executive Director, Pebbles Badillo Sanchez-Ogang, highlighted how women, children, and marginalized groups face greater risks when communities are forced to move. Across our work, from disaster preparedness to community-based adaptation, we see this reality every day. When risks increase, so do the challenges faced by those with the least access to resources and protection. This is why responses must be safe, inclusive, and grounded in local realities. For 65 years in the Philippines, we’ve worked alongside communities to help people stay safe, rebuild, and move forward with dignity. We continue to urge leaders to ensure no one is left behind as communities respond to climate risks. #StandWithGirls #PlanInternationalPilipinas #ASEANClimateWeek #ClimateAction

Magnus would always tell us, “Mama, Papa, Papa Jesus put the answer in my brain,” and our little Geoffrey surprised us with his performance at school— Highest Honors and Top 1. 🥹 No words could express how proud we are of our little one, and how grateful we are for everyone who helps us raise him to becoming a kind, curious, and joyful boy. Thank you, Mamita, for caring for and teaching Magnus with love, sacrifice and patience. Thank you, Lola Aba, for preparing his meals and bringing him to school. Thank you, Nanay and Tatay, for always supporting and encouraging him. Thank you to our family for cheering him on every step of the way. And to Magnus’ teachers at Acelina— Teacher Jizel, Teacher Sherizza, and especially Teacher Clara— thank you for helping nurture and guide our son. Salamat po sa pagmamahal at pagtutok sa kanya! Great job to us, Daddy @geoffrey.ogang ! Malayo pa, but I’m grateful you are my partner in everything. So much of the boy Magnus is becoming reflects the example you set for him every day. All glory to God for every grace, every growth, and every milestone. We love you so much, anak! 💙 #MagnusGeosiah Oh and it’s a double celebration because it’s Daddy Ben’s 41st birthday! 🎉 We love you Daddy Ben and may God continue to bless you with good health, happiness and successes.

When @planinternational released the Real Choices, Real Lives study, tracking the lives of girls across nine countries, including the Philippines, over 18 years, this message stood out: Climate change is disrupting girls’ lives. From typhoons and flooding to extreme heat, our girl leaders shared how these challenges make it harder to learn, attend school, and pursue their dreams. We are grateful to the Quezon City Government and Mayor Joy Belmonte for inviting us at Plan International Pilipinas @planphilippines to contribute to the conversation at the Urban Heat and Drought Summit last April 14. Together, we continue to stand with girls and champion youth- and women-led climate solutions. ⸝ 📄 Read the full Real Choices, Real Lives report here: /publications/real-choices-real-lives-final-report/ 💙 Make a lasting impact by supporting our programs: /philippines/the-girls-fund/ 📩 For partnerships and inquiries, you may reach us at: [email protected] #StandWithGirls #PlanInternationalPilipinas 📸 QC Government Facebook Page

This Holy Week, in a humbling opportunity to share our life’s testimony and take part in the Franciscans of the Holy Spirit prayer community’s activities, one message became clear: We need to “be still, for He is God.” (Psalm 46:10) Life is meant to be experienced— the challenges, the beauty, and the love from the people He surrounds us with. Life is meant to be felt and lived— Not just with Him beside us, not just Him in some parts of our lives but with Him fully leading, fully healing, and us fully trusting for He alone knows everything. So as we care for ourselves, our loved ones, and the many blessings He has entrusted to us, may we rest in Him— and truly let God be God in our lives. Happy Easter! 🙏✨

What truly is #WomensMonth— and why celebrate it, alongside #GirlChildWeek every 4th week of March? For us at Plan International Pilipinas @planphilippines , it’s about honoring the legacy of women and girls who came before us, continuing the fight against all forms of violence and barriers, and rising together towards a gender-equal and inclusive society. March truly reminded us exactly why we do what we do. ✨ Together with Creative Director @niccolocosme and @headshotclinic , we are grateful to be part of Hibla: A Women’s Month Campaign at Glorietta. Our girl and youth leaders shone— speaking up and sharing their stories. They too had fun at the @midnightdreamph Studio! ✨ With #TikTok ThinkTwice Troop, we continued amplifying the voices of our girl leaders and strengthening our shared commitment to safer digital spaces. We were also inspired to meet my fellow Xientian and inspiring content creator @lyqamaravilla , alongside champions @enjoyglobe Chief Data Privacy Officer Irish Almeida and brilliant creator of #KahitKabado @gianna.abao . ✨ We partner with Quezon City Gender and Development Office for a series of talks on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Online Safety— empowering high school students to protect their rights and agency. ✨ We also brought together our community leaders for a Women in Resilience training, in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Resilience Institute. ✨ We had more gatherings from joining the @ladiesletslead She Shines Summit, Nordic Day celebration, ACCESS Consortium’s Nexus Forum to speaking to 300 employees of Optum Philippines. ✨ And we culminated it all with our very own Feminist Café— creating a safe space within Plan International Pilipinas to reflect, learn, and deepen our commitment to gender equality and inclusion. To our entire team, our girl and youth leaders, and our partners— thank you for showing up with passion and purpose. And we will continue to #StandWithGirls and the most vulnerable until every girl is free to learn, lead, decide, be resilient and thrive. 💙
