PEA's innovative Green Business Network is empowering local businesses to take meaningful action when it comes to implementing sustainability efforts in our community! Each year, businesses in the network choose a few sustainability goals to focus on with the support of PEA's expert team. Here are a few of our members that are focusing on recycling and composting this year ♻️⬇️
➡️ @baoyeahnc is a food truck serving up in-your-face delicious Asian street food in the Piedmont Triad and beyond.
➡️ @bookmarksnc is a thriving non-profit bookstore and hub for the Winston-Salem community. It's a place for folks to engage with books, ideas, and each other.
➡️ @sparkcommunityws designs and manages community service experiences in order to help our neighbors in need and spread kindness to all.
➡️ @salemcollege is a private, four-year liberal arts college and one of the oldest educational institutions for girls and women in the United States (in fact, it's even older than the United States!). Salem’s programs include an Environmental Studies major and the college boasts a dynamic student-led ECO Club.
➡️ @uufellowshipws is a community cultivating curious minds, compassionate hearts, and courageous actions in service of a more just and loving world.

Mast General Store is a historic, family and employee-owned retailer that offers a wide variety of goods, including clothing, outdoor gear, footwear, and old-fashioned candy, in a charming, old-timey atmosphere. The original store was established in 1883 in Valle Crucis, North Carolina, and it now has eleven locations across four states, including a store on Trade St. in downtown Winston-Salem.
We’re excited to help them identify new sustainability priorities and opportunities for action with our Green Business Network, which helps businesses in the Piedmont Triad explore incentives for sustainable capital improvements, connect them with sustainable vendors, pursue grant opportunities to fund sustainable upgrades, and more.
