SATURDAY MAY 24th 8PM in the SKUNK ROOM AT THE ELYSIAN
A night of melodic, bombastic, and often menacing music in celebration of MIRTHQUAKEâs debut album release . All ticket proceeds will go to the PDA fire relief fund. Come drink cheap beer and enjoy some rich culture , for once in your damn life!
Thank you so much to @geffenplayhouse for hosting PDA at their community night for Furloughs Paradise! We had a beautiful night with our beautiful world and patrons/performers at PDA! Go see the show!
Big praise to the Army Corps of Engineers for all their hard work clearing the burn zone. They are a fine oiled machine, currently clearing 80 lots a day, and plan to have Altadena cleaned up by the end of June! What a feat, if youâve been up there and seen the destruction, you know this is no small job. I highly recommend going and taking a look if you havenât, to get a clue what this is all about and to understand what your fire victim friends are going through.
The dumptrucks in photo one wait in line, not fully ever stopping but just creeping to a slow roll to grab a slip from a guy with the next address of the next home to clear on it. The work literally does not stop, 12-14 hours a day until the job is done. đ”âđ«

I moved to Los Angeles 15 years ago with no idea I'd end up being a comedian. Getting laughs was my whole life, but I was horrified by the idea of performing live onstage. When I arrived, the only performance I'd ever done was singing one song at an open mic. At the time, I was working in a restaurant in Cincinnati and when they offered me a managerial position I impulsively said, "I'm moving to California." I was full of shit most of my life, but this time I did what I said.
The biggest dream I could imagine at the time was maybe working in development at a production company. As I failed at that dream I started writing scripts and imagining myself being a comedy writer in a writer's room. This desire led me to take my first improv class at @ucbtla My graduation show for 101 was my first time performing comedy onstage. It was most certainly bad, but I loved it. I couldn't get enough of it. I couldn't stop.
I'd go on to work with @gilkeypleas@idiotworkshop and find my true comedic identity in clown, eventually becoming a teacher at the workshop.
All of a sudden, I'm turning 40, and still making work. To celebrate my unexpected life as a clown, I will be returning to the stage where it all began, to perform my solo show HONEST WORK - a 60 minute solo improvisation unlike anything you've ever seen. I'd be honored if you were able to celebrate my life with me! Tix in bio.
