Return From Helsinki // Basket Case Jig
Welllll Payden and I have collaborated on loads of videos for other artists but we finally got ourselves out on the other side of the camera. While putting together some Irish tunes for a couple St. Patties day gigs this year, we decided to strike while the iron was hot and get some moody footy.
First tune is Return From Helsinki which I learned from the the Shermanhouse crew many years ago and while Payden and I were rehearsing, he played a lick that kind of sounded like Basket Case then before we knew what was happening, it was a whole thing.

It was absolute blast to work on this one, everybody from the band to the crowd to the crew freakin’ nailed it! Thought I’d share a little BTS of the process. Shoutout to the best boys - @erikfellenstein , for lighting and shooting, and @jbarteck for additional shooting and photos! Payden and I have been spending a lot of time behind the camera shooting videos of other folks’ music, but boy was it fun to make some folksy musics ourselves.

@the_andi_lynn and I cover one of our favorites, this time in a very speical place. We are standing in my parent’s new home, being built in the same lot that the old one stood in for 31 years until it burned down in 2021. It’s exicting and heart warming to finally have the new house under construction, but I still find myself thinking about everything I’ll miss about the old home. I had an amazing team of people help me out with this one. Huge thank you to @erikfellenstein for the beautifully crafted video.

For #ltla no. 3. This song has always been so challenging for me. I actually had a version of this up on my YouTube channel that I recently took done because it was so bad 😂. Good news is, I’ve come a long way, and it feels good to be able try this song again and have evidence that I am in fact getting better, despite how it feels sometimes. So here’s version 2 of a song that I love very much. Look out in 8 years when I post version 3.
