I don’t really do birthday celebrations, but getting older will make you reflect on past years and I can’t even lie I got lost out here for a minute lol I’m just for real grateful to be where I’m at right now. This was the first year of my life, in a long time, where it felt like things progressively got better without any significant set backs. And I am so grateful for everyone who has been there for me and contributed to the progress. This is an appreciation post. An important one ! 9 years ago, I asked to @bruceykanji if he would agree to give me try to teach #housedance at @jdschool and he gave me the shot. This opportunity was a playground, a laboratory, a plateform to meet incredible students, and mostly to meet myself in this crucial position of transmission. I was able to try everything, to make the process and progression happen, and I did ! Taking accountability of preserving the essence of this culture, giving back what I received, giving my point of view and love. This chapter comes to an end, as life can be challenging but it’s only for new beginnings. Thanks to all @jdschool team, @rabahmahfoufi Nicolas, Jay, the teachers, students that I crossed and made this journey exciting and full of growth.
