I am so grateful for every moment with you. I am so grateful my children got to experience your presence before your time was up. I am so thankful for all the life lessons. You were a master class in how to stand up, be a man and handle your shit while doing it with love. You have played a pivotal roll in every single path I’ve followed in this life. You taught me how to be comfortable with tools, you showed me the beauty that wood has to offer, you taught me the importance of working hard even when things are going well. I will cherish it all forever. And I know Gigi was up there waiting for you with a sarcastic joke lined up… “Love you pal”

As the sun set on your 20s, we watched from paradise while reminiscing on the path that brought us here. I’m so thankful for every second of it. To say I am I’m proud to call you my wife is an understatement. 1 week ago I was on the beach with my wife, daughter and a few of our friends including Drew. I walked up to the truck grabbed a long board and went to paddle out in front of the jetty. As I was walking down Drew goes “what are you doing grab your short board there’s air sections over there.” I just brushed it off and said yeah yeah whatever Drew it’s a beach day! As I came in from that surf I was walking up towards everybody and a perfect air section came in right where Drew was talking about and he goes “SEE!? Go get your short board!” So I did. I got a few crappy waves and did this little air then came in to Drew saying “get back out there the light is getting good!” And I said just in time for me to come enjoy some time on the beach with you guys. Drew leaned back with a big sarcastic smile and said “fine!”. He proceeded to show me photos on his camera and talk about how cute our daughter is.. on Monday morning he sent me these two photos and we had a good chuckle about them. These two photos are the last two photos Drew will ever send me and I will cherish them forever.
One week, later we are doing a paddle out in honor of Andrew Blauschild at the very same spot and it still does not feel real.
