It is pure joy to share that our feature film 'WOLF' will be having its world premiere at @sheffdocfest in the International First Feature Competition. Narrated through a deeply personal conversation with longtime friend Tilda Swinton, ‘WOLF’ traces the extraordinary life and battles of musician @patrickwolf . Telling Patrick’s story has been one of the most rewarding creative journeys of my life. One that began for me as a teenager, running around London finding music and myself – I can’t wait to finally share this brave and defiant tale with the world. Thrilled to also announce that behind the film’s soundtrack will be the brilliant Oscar-nominated Owen Pallett (@hepostsclouds ), combining both original score and a unique selection of Patrick’s work, rearranged and reimagined for the film. It's my thrill to announce part one of my "Tour Of The Beast" - this June, returning to America and for the first time since 2009, making my way through the southern states driving East to West coast finishing up with a special show on my birthday in Los Angeles on the 30th of June. I cannot wait to bring the beast your way this summer These are all standing shows where I'll be throwing you one of my more high octane nights of music, the tour will coincide with the release of two new songs, this tour and those songs are all part of a project that exists in a valley of fable, fairytale and fantasmagoria between the album just passed and the one on it's way... more of all this to be revealed soon, but for now tickets are on-sale, head to the link in bio for this tour we have had to streamline and organise the meet and greet formally to make sure it can happen every night this time, I know it's a new thing for me to do and for you, but changes had to be made in order to keep the night running smoothly and all crew and venues time respected. “The Cuckoo” is an Appalachian folk song from North Carolina where soon, in Raleigh I’ll be bringing my music to for the first time since 2009, a matter of weeks now.. a homecoming for my old steed of a black Appalachian mountain dulcimer too who I’m sure will sing out just that little differently to be for the first time playing in his homeland. when I think of DC, musically, I will always think of two bands, Fugazi and The Makeup - both a glorious part of the soundtrack of my upbringing. Last Saturday my sun, my sunbear and son, Percy died in my arms, only four and half years in this world. I’ve not the strength for any eulogy as of yet as the tragedy of the afternoon, a hit and run on a peaceful halcyon day still leaves me bewildered at a life without him. But Percy came into my world at the very start of me taking my first steps back into my work and to you, on overwhelming mornings he would do everything within his power to get me out of bed and upright, he encouraged me to step into my stride again and so I know my familiar, urges me still to face and embrace all the work that lies ahead of me although I do feel I have lost one of the greatest reasons why. He is survived by his little brother Hieronymus, my little owl, who is showing me day by day the little clearings of light in this great shadow Percy leaves behind. I don’t know where to start with posting about The Last Sheaf, a little like the Minack theatre event last year, the happening can only be explained in mere shards and fragments online, but I’ll start at the closing number of the second half, foreland, where a sigh of release came over me knowing I could in that moment send the album at the end of its year on parade, back into the sea it came from, where you can go dive for it whenever you’re needing thank-you for the electricity you all conjured in a sold out union chapel, to those who travelled and gathered by the sea in Brighton for the night before, to @enginesorchestra for collaborating with me with an incredible quartet led by my first violinist for over two decades, Victoria Sutherland, to @brenjwc @sophie.u.crawford @charliestock @miriamwakeling + @frarustumji - such an honour to work and make with you my deepest gratitude to you all who came and who support this work of mine, i am so blessed to have such a beautiful deep, wide and wonderful audience, new and old, after all these years and onward…. x patrick your shared moments from the union chapel have been saved to its own story highlights above / foreland 🎥: @panastle
