Some images from my film Recycled Memories.... This film is really funny to me, for the reason that it has been the least successful in the sense of finding a mode of exhibition. Which, initially made me disregard this film as a little bit of a failed project. What's funny is that over time I really started to feel closest to this film then any other film I've made and I think it really well encapsulates everything I had been trying to do with non-narrative film for the past couple years. It also means a lot to me because, for a good chunk of time I thought this would be the last personal film I would make. I suspect now, I probably will make more, but they will be entirely different then what I was doing in the projects I made between 2014 and 2018. I released a record called columns of air last week on all the streaming services! (apple, Spotify, etc...) alternatively you can find it at patrickgregg.bandcamp.com - Columns of air has been a really important project to me in finding out what I want to do with sound. It mostly consists of pieces written for a quartet of woodwinds that were played by myself on bassoon, saxophone, b. Clarinet, and Alto flute and later digitally transformed using various (mostly granular) processes. I'd be extremely appreciative if you'd take a listen! It has taken way to long to put this online, but I just released a record on all streaming services! (just search my name and “columns of air” in spotify/apple music/etc… it should pop up) It’s actually been done for a minute but it’s been difficult to convince myself that it was done. I really didn’t feel it was done until I was super deep into another project, which I’m in the middle of working on now. Anyhow, take a listen if you’re interested in what I’ve been doing for the better part of a year!
