Makanjuola House, Lagos Island. «I love renovations because in essence it's breathing new life into old buildings, revamping them rather than letting them waste away or worse be demolished. In this case, the building has been done up really nicely & is lovely to see, though the environment itself leaves a lot to be desired». Words: @the_izzy_e Photography: @the_izzy_e

“Maintaining a sense of History” According to @adeyemo_shokunbi “we refurbished, repurposed, retrofitted, extended, created a loft space and converted the property into flat. The Makanjuola House building now stands tall and longer in it's old environment. Swipe to see the MAGiC ✹ So extraordinary đŸ“· @__19.04__ @chadosphotograph #ohltour #architecture #ohlagos #ohlagos2021 #arkitecture #nigerianbuikdings #history

Photography is an important aspect of architecture. The Daguerreotype was among the first photographic methods when it was invented by Louis-Jacques-MandĂ© Daguerre in 1839. However, Joseph-Philibert Girault de Prangey exclusively used the daguerreotype for the purposes of architecture photography, arguably making him the first architecture photographer. His first known photos, taken as early as 1841. Abijo Mosque has had its fair share of being ‘snapped’ (I took many process photographs during construction). It has been the Subject of several brilliant architectural photographers, who have all done justice to what we believe has been our finest hour so far. We hope to create many more masterpieces to nestle in the urban fabric.
