Edited between the wind corridors of the Tepozteco and the banks of Loch Long, the new issue of Wet Grain contains incredible poetry and essays on land-use, ownership, and provenance from the West Bank, the Polish hills, Orkney, Denmark, and around the world. So thankful for the chance to work on it with the elemental @nasimluczaj

Thank you @tree.m.c for so many moments both elated and melancholic: you are more than the binoculars in this emotional bird-watch of a project. Thank you @clarabalaportocala for the beautifully-captured image of decay that graces the cover. Abandoned tents gliding above Idanha-da-Nova after Boom also feel apt somehow.
âGraftâ is out now. âAn August Work Partyâ @anoraq.sound debut album, is out on the 1st of May.
Lots of islands, lots and lots of plots: âOur Little Plot on this Beautiful Islandâ is out today!
Shout out to Jimmie MacBeath, whose version of âMcCaffertyâ is an ear worm and who I probably shouldnât identify with as much as I do.
Thank you @clarabalaportocala for the rainy Eshaness cover design, which gives @peteralecmusic solo a certain wedding reel joy when I listen to it now.
âTroubled Faultlinesâ, a conversation about Latin American history and how it has influenced Southernmost: Sonnets (@chattobooks ) & Glass Knot Sun (@brookespoetry ) is out on the @poetry_london website today đ
This is timely, as it coincides with the launch of the Latinx issue of @wasafirimag edited by Leo and @karinalickorishquinn at the British Library and Reference Point in coming days.
You can keep up with much of whatâs happening in UK Latinx writing by following @unslatinxwriters a collective for poets and writers of Latinx heritage.
Deep thanks to @isabellebaafi & @niallcpoetry for instigating this. Read the conversation for free at poetrylondon.co.uk
Hasta siempre,
Patrick & Leo
Iâll be landing in Edinburgh just as star fruit season comes to an all-too-abrupt end & also just a few of hours before submissions close for Issue Seven of @wetgrainpoetry Please donât deny us the chance to pay you for your work: send your poems, essays, and essay pitches our way before Thursday night đ
Wet Grainâs now joined the roster of publications supported by @creativescots . As far as I know, itâs the first green light for a literary magazine in quite some time and thatâs not to be taken for granted. Nor is editing it alongside @nasimluczaj âď¸
I posted a short piece outlining the magazineâs new outlook in our newsletter:
âAs both a measurable economic unit and (more importantly for us) a paradigmatic metaphor, how we relate to land shapes us imaginatively at the deepest level.â
You can read the whole thing by subscribing for free via our website or linktree.
