I only publish when I have something to say that may warrant your time reading it. This was one of those moments. It’s so incredibly rare for me to meet an artist that hasn’t had to tolerate unimaginable and outright humiliating interactions and experiences in the music industry. This has historically been broadly accepted as a norm. I can practically see it in an artist’s face when I meet them and if I just simply started our convo with “I’m sorry”, they would know what I was talking about. In life we all get what we tolerate. I do believe we are on the leading edge of the music business taking a new shape. We must grab hold of these moments and not be fooled into new iterations of the same. Whatever the next incarnation looks like, artists will get what they tolerate. Will you hold your ground? 🧭Link to blog post in profile🧭

We’re big proponents of taking action and doing, and prioritizing thinking may seem counter to that way of operating. It’s important to remember that effective action requires fuel.
A recharged mind provides a sense of clarity and direction that will make your actions more focused and intentional, and reflection breeds insight.

Your thoughts and voice follow you everywhere. From the couch to the stage, our inner and outer dialogues thrive not from more, but from less. It’s one thing to impulse grab the latest tech and techniques, it’s another to consider what beliefs and systems we unconsciously carry that could be discarded on behalf of embodying the moment with ease and empowerment.
Join us Thursday May 15th for a free zoom webinar where we’ll do a thorough spring cleaning of your WHOLE instrument.
We’ll discuss an inventory of common misconceptions surrounding the voice and swap them out for a clean and clear vessel of activated presence. You’ll uncover the deeply embedded relationship between your muscles and your narratives, as well as a systematic process to develop clear and sustainable body-mind interdependence.
Whether you’re a vocalist or anyone trying to speak their truth, this webinar will offer you a clean slate towards your expression journey.

One of the consistent complaints that we hear from artists is that other artists (even close artist friends) are reluctant to share information, or highlight each other’s wins. This unwillingness to share resources, connections, ideas, and strategies seem to be rooted in their own artistic survival instincts.
The thinking being: your opportunities are my lost opportunities. A constant state of artist survival and competition.
Consider opening up and nourishing a fellow artist, sharing resources, giving advice when it’s requested, cooperating — you are not always in competition with your fellow artist for survival, your real competition more likely to be, well…you.
Your self-sabotage and self-doubt. You are competing for survival against your ego, and that devil on your shoulder never met an artist he couldn’t fuck with. As author @briannawiest would put it; “You Are The Mountain.”
